Why were you punished?: rule 3.17 confiscating a weapon when It was not safe to do so

Why should this appeal be considered?: I belive that this punishment was very harsh. My reasoning is, Firstly When on cevilian I saw that there was an active scene at farm. I decided to go onto plpd with my friend and as soon as i went on plpd I muted the radio while I waited for him to join and never actualy turned it back on. When my friend Ali joined plpd he said to me to go to church because there some commotion at church. (you can see this in demo, nothing was said about shots fired to me specificaly) The infromation I was going off was extemly limited, now I understaind that on the radio it was called out that the medics should leave the area but I had my radio muted, when I arrived and saw an EMS abulance on site I came to the inccorect conclition that the situation was code 4. I assumed that the medics were cleaning up the bodies and that the raiders had fled the area becuse I didnt hear any shots the entire time I was on plpd and I didnt see any people alive at any time. Becuase there were no police officers on scene to protect the eveidence my thought process was to confiscate the weapons because normal cervilians were able to acsess to them and so I could put all my focus on caputuring the evading raiders. It was a split decision and I do now see it in retriospect it probably wasnt the right call as we were both killed by a sniper in the trees that I didnt even see. But from my point of view the raiders I assumed were fleeing and the situation was safe to conficate so that cevilians are unable to abuse the weapons that are lying on the floor. Furthemore as seen in rule 3.17 " leaving it would risk public tampering" because of this fact I also decided to conficate the weapon.

After speaking with other staff members, we have agreed to deny this. You drove over to church and got out of the car and instantly confiscated a gun. You failed to check the surrounding area and check if it was actually clear or not, as your partner got killed right after you took the gun. Just because EMS are on scene doesnt mean it's clear, as they could be combat reviving or have been gunpointed to revive people, which you could ask over the radio if it's clear or not.
