Punishment Type: Ban
Punishment Subtype: Server Ban
Appeal Type: Dispute[Evidence]
Which staff member issued the punishment?: @Oddy
How long were you banned/blacklisted for?: 3 Weeks

Your Steam Name: Jordz
Your Roleplay Name: Bobby Abudhabi
Your SteamID: STEAM_0:1:13737066

Why were you punished?: 3.4

Why should this appeal be considered?: I was gun pointed by a cop (with a chevron) for running a stop sign and passing him. That is not worthy of being at gun point. He threatened my life over it. I asked the cop why I am at gunpoint, he gave no reason. I turned my engine off and told the cop I will work with him. He proceeded to force me out of my vehicle without reason. Given that this is a crooked cop, I shot back while his hands were empty. I died... Now, I assume a report was made right then by the cop, but why was it responded to hours later? Why was it responded to outside of what was? Why was it not addressed in what should have been a report made in regard to the incident? Was a report even made?

Hours later I was killed on impact from a wrong-way driver destroying my car. I made a report. After I made that report the admin asks if I have time for a sit. I said, "Sorry, no" as I was ready to go to bed. Despite my answer, the admin teleports me to him seconds later and asks me about the incident above from 2 hours earlier. Again, was a report even made?? I told the admin repeatedly that I don't have time, I was ready to go to bed, and that the complaint should be taken to the forum. He argued me on that saying if I do not explain, "failure to do so will result in a ban." I said, "The plaintiff should make his complaint in the forums. That way it can be properly arbitrated." He said, "The issue here is that you have been taken to a sit, and are failuring to provide any form of justification, nor complying which is against rule 1.6 and explain the situation from your point of view." I could not have made it more clear that I was going to bed and his accusation/received complaint (if there was one) should be taken in the forum.

I made a report for me dying and my car getting totaled by a wrong way driver. Being teleported for something completely different (hours later) and against my ask had nothing to do with my report. My report was never even addressed, ever. I asked again that the original complaint (if there was one) please be taken to the forum. The admin ridiculed me for asking that these proper arbitration measures be taken, and I will be banned if I do not explain myself right then. Again, I asked that this issue be taken to the forum. He said, "You clearly have the time to argue the admin sit, but failing to elaborate on your actions. I will issue you with the ban now, as you have been given a chance to explain the situation from your point of view."

Obviously I am not going to go to quit during an admin sit. Our interaction was brief, only a couple of minutes. I repeated to the admin that the complaint please be taken to the forum for proper arbitration since I was already about to get off. I told him, "I am merely here to let you know it needs to be done properly after I told you do I do not have time." In addition, "I will keep an eye out for the post in the forums. Am I free to log off without punishment?" He said no and I was banned.

I asked for the complaint (if there was one) to be arbitrated in the forum. Instead, I was ridiculed and treated with contempt.
This ban is completely unfair and I was made guilty until proven innocent.

The interaction with the admin is all in writing from approx. 10:30-10:40pm PST on January 12, 2025.

Hello,

here is an excerpt from rule 3.4, please explain to me why you believe you have not broken this rule. Please keep in mind in your response that not knowing the reason for your gunpoint is not a reason not to comply with it.

A few common examples of unreasonable risks include, but are not limited to:
  • Running on the highway without a justifiable reason
  • Loitering around the vicinity of a shootout you are not a part of or being within the line of fire from both intentional and accidental fire. Users must flee the scene of a shootout and wait for police to clear the scene and reopen the area to the public. This applies regardless of you being restrained or not.
  • Murdering a police officer(s) to avoid yourself or others receiving a minor punishment, such as a small ticket or a minor jail sentence
  • Loitering around the scene of a crime you committed with the intention of engaging in more combat
  • To not comply with reasonable orders given under the direct threat of a lethal weapon being pointed at you, such as a mugging.
  • Committing a violent or serious crime, such as murder, theft, arson, etc. whilst knowing that police are in direct eyeshot of the scene you wish to commit the crime at.
  • After committing a crime, relevant precautions should be taken to avoid arrest or police attention, such as avoiding public places.

Just because you *think* someone else is breaking rules and/or PLPD polices it doesn’t excuse your rule breaks. You should always follow the rules yourself as there are enough avenues to report others actions such as F6 report, Action Request and for officers PLPD Internal Affairs complaints. Instead you have used your ignorant logic of because someone else is doing wrong, so am I which isn’t acceptable.
