Since the arrival of soccer balls, there has been a lack in organized ball playing and fondling. This all changes with Barkball (sponsored by Paddy Power), which will showcase the ball handling abilities of your favorite Paralake citizens. There will be hardcore ball kicking action, a furry commentator and streamer (@Megasaw), and maybe even a couple of terrorists who knows. This tournament will test who is the biggest ball enjoyer in Paralake.

This first tournament will be a test run to see how the event turns out with how the current mechanics work and such. If the event turns out well, then there will be an even bigger tournament with an even larger prize pool ($5,000,000 - $10,000,000), more teams, and a bigger stadium. For now though, the current prize pool will be as follows:

1st: $1,000,000 | 2nd: $500,000 | 3rd: $250,000
The tournament MVP will get a bonus of $250,000 + 1 Month Premium

Game Rules

The rules of the game will slightly differ from regular soccer (football for people with bad teeth):
#1Obviously no punching, pushing, propgun usage, weapons, handballs, cheating in any way
#2No offsides or throw-ins will be called
#3Corners, goal kicks, penalties as normal
#4~5 minute games, or until a team scores 5 goals, penalty shootout for ties
#5All players will be expected to know these rules, or risk their team's forfeiture.




Schedule

The tentative schedule will be a single day event with 8 games played, the extra game being a match to decide a third place winner. The date the event will take place on will depend on how fast the registrations fill up, but aiming for a weekend in the next couple weeks. This will be updated as more and more teams sign up. (subject to change at any time)

Venue

The tournament will take place in a state of the art full football pitch hand built by myself WITH HELP FROM @Tinky . It's a simple design, but built with precision so that there are no seams/gaps or anything unsightly. I wanted to keep the design of the field as close as possible to a standard field with the limitations of available building supplies and techniques. There is seating for 48 in the stands, with a concessions area and locker rooms for the teams.





Team Registration

There will be a maximum of 8 teams with signups. If there are any teams that sign up after the first 8, they will be placed on a waitlist for any noshows.

All team registrations will have a maximum of 3 players and you are allowed to register up to 3 optional subsitutes/coaches/support staff.

There are no costs for signups, but team registrations will require a $100,000 security deposit paid in advance, refunded once your team plays and gets eliminated.

Advertisement Opportunities

In order to raise extra funds for the event, there will be opportunities to advertise your local business or service (or really anything) on the 3 big billboards (The long org ones) facing the stands. Advertising will cost $25,000 per match and all images will have to be approved before the day of the first match. There may be smaller billboards around, depending on how many people want to advertise.
