Constant lagg spikes every second

Everyone says that lag spikes are always about your connection to the server but it can also be about your PC. Now im not saying anyone had a shit PC because my PC costs over $2000 and I still get lag spikes. The solution that worked for me or at least helped me was by entering commands to help my FPS. The most effective ones that I know of is r_shadows 0 (which disables your flashlight and your headlights) and r_3dsky 0 (which disables the skybox) If your ever in a densely populated area or in a gunfight try r_cleardecals (Which removes blood, bullet holes etc. Amazing for sniping through windows btw) And the last one I can think of which I sometimes use BEFORE joining the server is mat_specular 0 (Which does something with the reflections so they are not as bright. Well for me anyways)

Now I understand your probs saying that "Codez I want to get rid of lagpikes not get more fps" But think about this. If you are getting around 60 fps and it drops to 30 or so then if you are getting 100 and it drops to 60-40 its still playable (to some extent :/)

1. It's quite funny because I have a potato of a pc and have no lag spikes. Could it relate to the location of players?
