Suggestion Title: Dispatch QoL and additions
Suggestion Description: QoL:
- Allowing dispatchers to move incidents, click and drag an incident on the map.
- Multi select units, either to assign or unassign them. (unsure if this already is a thing)
- Automatic bank raid incident.
- Allowing dispatchers to color code different incidents, could be made automatic such as burgler alerts being red and stolen vehicles being gray ect.
- Make it possible to change the map to a satellite/realistic view, (once again not sure if this is already a thing)
Additions:
- Temporarily block 911 calls from a certain number, could be used if repeated prank calling. (Limit this to dispatcher+)
- Very temporarily blocking open-comms during an announcement also being able to let a single person talk, Senior dispatcher only.
- Getting notifications via the cameras when a stolen/wanted vehicle/person crosses the line of sight, this notification would only pop up for dispatchers granting a positive aspect to have dispatchers on duty
- Public ping used for notifying an incomming important transmission.
Why should this be added?:
- The QoL speaks for itself, a general overhaul would definitely bring more people to the role of dispatcher. I've had multiple occations where a certain person is prank calling 911 and no officers were able to respond as there had been multiple raids ect, allowing dispatchers to temporarily block certain numbers from calling whether it be for 3 - 5 minutes would make a great difference as a lot of the 911 calls are rather difficult to deal with and takes up a considerable amount of time. Allowing senior dispatchers to lock comms for a very temporary time would allow announcements considerably easier as one person would be talking, this could be used alongside the public ping. Situations such as a person calling 10 toes that requires an announcement with instructions is one of few times this would be used. As of currently I do believe quite a lot of people think that dispatchers are a hassle to deal with due to the extra steps you'd need to follow, adding another positive aspect locked behind dispatchers would not only insentivse dispatch gameplay but also the communication between dispatch and the rest of the PD, the addition of notifications would make tracking wanted/stolen vehicles a lot easier as currently especially with stolen vehicles it is just a game of chance especially with the ANPR.
What negatives could this have?:
- With the additions there could be a lot of room for abuse as blocking 911 calls could endanger the civilian however if abused make an IA. Quite the same for the blocking of comms, this would be a rather large scale and would do a rather considerable amount of damage depending on the situation however if abused there is always IAs and/or supervisors on duty. Going to the more iffy part of the suggestion, the notifications. This would make criminals a lot more vulnerable arguably not as much as they should nevertheless it would make stealing vehicles and usage of public shops while warranted very risky.
What problem would this suggestion solve?: The main problem I see this fixing is the lack of activity when it comes to dispatcher, people would find it a lot more enjoyable being wanted as a dispatcher rather then a burden, what I mean by that is I feel that the hassle dispatch brings outweighs the positive aspects in most situations, adding a locked possitive aspect would greatly reduce the negativity towards dispatchers. I have also heard people complaining about the current UI for dispatchers which is understandable, it needs a overhaul however with the lack of ideas it would be rather difficult so adding QoL changes would probably reduce the complaints in regards to the UI.
