Is this a new law or a change to a current law: New

What law do you wish to change/add:
A law rendering illegally-obtained evidence inadmissible for the purposes of convicting someone of a crime.

Why should this change/addition be made:
Because it would add protection for citizens against misconduct by the government. The state cannot justifiably deprive someone of their liberty for breaking the law if the state itself did not follow the law.

What is the aim of this change/addition:
As stated above, the aim of this addition would be to add legal protections for citizens who are victims of police misconduct.

Additional Information: In the United States, the Fourth Amendment ensures rights protecting citizens against unlawful search and seizure, one of which is the exclusionary rule. Just as in real life, in-game there may be law enforcement officers, or even whole departments that do not respect the rights of individuals. To send someone to jail for breaking the law even when the state broke the law in showing that the defendant broke the law would be a grave violation. Any system that would condone such a thing cannot be considered just.

Simply put:
You have no rights as a citizen in Paralake. If you break the law you will be arrested if the police catch you, any misconduct will be dealt with by supervisors

This law suggestion has been accepted at the re-meeting for the 5th City Council meeting. A law draft will be made which will be presented and voted at the next City Council meeting.
