i boot it up the screen goes green it restarts and it just repeats itself, so i tried onboard graphics and it works

Do you have windows 10? Did you have an update of it? I've had problems with windows updating and not recognizing my GPU anymore as it fucked up the drivers cus microsoft only does minecraft right nowadays (even tho they're fucking minecraft up aswell) Try reverting to an older version or just install windows 7 but only if all ur components support it

well hello everybody you will be pleased to know i got one of those gtx 970 cards from CeX for £85 so i figured it will serve me well for a while i hope, if it doesnt i will storm back to CeX and start screaming in welsh
