So i had an f6 opened on me because i was running through the woods with a my gun out and ran into someone hiding in the trees with their gun out, so i shot them. I was told i was in the wrong and had to wait for them to do something, which in my opion is a break of

3.6 Stay Alive

simply because if his intent was to mug, then he can just kill me due to my gun out. However i was told i broke rule 2.5 because he had not attempted to mug me. Im just confused on how having a gun out, hiding in a mugglable area isnt considered KOS. more so because ive been killed by players and admins for having a gun out. i would like clearification. I belive in this situation the 2 rules contradict each other.

You mentioned rule 3.6 but didnt say what rule 3.6 says
Rule 3.6 (Stay Alive) Clearly states Players must, at all times, do everything in their power to prevent and/or avoid their own death.
So,there was no threat to your life which makes u to prevent your death and defend your life. Even if you think about it,the guy you shot is the same as u,he is also walking with a gun in the forest but doesnt show an active threat.

And you got a warning from phoondos for rule 2.5 which states Players may not excessively impact the experience of others in a negative manner, unless the actions are a proportionate escalation of negative actions that have been performed against the original player. ...
It's because there is no prior interaction, if I was to camp DD with an SMG I could just farm pistols by shooting everyone who walks up to me who's armed if this wasn't against the rules. The people who have guns in their hands have done absolutely nothing to warrant being shot, which means you can't shoot them!

I am fairly sure attempting to mug someone who already have a gun in their hands is considered 3.4 now, so by making it so neither party can shoot eachother is avoids awkward situations which always lead to time wasting reports.

And you should pay attention to the red text and then think if there were negative actions that could have been performed to you. And thats why you broke the rule 2.5
