Police Suggestion Long Sleeve for RTU

Suggestion Title: Long Sleeve for RTU
Suggestion Description: currently when you equip traffic gear the long sleeve gets removed and only patrol has the long sleeves.

Why should this be added?:
- more style
- already exists in patrol now for RTU

What negatives could this have?:
- none

What problem would this suggestion solve?: RTU has long sleeves as well

I too was surprised when the long sleeves were given to higher ranks instead of lower ones, but I really don't mind it.

i really hate how the idea of long sleeves is not being gatekept behind ranks. I suggested it hoping everyone can switch back and forth, not for it to be highjacked and used as a status symbol.

Even though it's usually the other way around (long for low ranks/rookies, short for higher ups), it's not rare to see real life police departments "gatekeeping" the length of their sleeves based on rank.

You recently made a suggestion that Mercedes AMG should be shared with RTU trainers. None of them want that lmao and if they did they can easily get SGT. Same goes for this. I would give this a -1 as SGT is level that is a great achievement to be given and just by giving these prizes to lower ranks just makes the SGT role useless

Comparing the Mercedes Cert idea is a false equivalence for obvious reasons. The Cops' sleeve length doesn't impact the balance of the game and By that logic,


Your reply seems heavily biased towards the fact you recently became Sergeant. Since you want to argue "What people want," lets talk about how many upvotes not only my suggestion got, but also the suggestion of Allen. We SPECIFICALLY asked for everyone to be able to toggle between long and short sleeves.

Brief description of idea:
Cops can go down to the armory sergeant and choose between a short sleeve shirt, (what we have currently) and a long sleeve version of it, which would make sense cause the current one is basically rolled sleeves as far as I can tell.
What benefits would this idea have for the department:
Cops can have a choice of short or long sleeves on their duty shirts.
What potential negatives could this have for the department:
I can't think of anything, besides the fact that someone needs to actually make the long sleeve shirt arms and first person arms...

Why should this be added?:
- The biggest reason behind it being “pointless for shootouts,” is silly. It’s okay for people to want to have fashion choices.
- fashionable for cops
- short sleeves during winter time when it’s snowing looks weird
- even if pvp is a concern, crims can still tell if it’s tfu from far by looking at the scar in hand and other clothes.

Its for SGT only as well so what are you trying to say

Malek no. I am trying to say that Roger made a suggestion regarding to the SGT mercedes for PD RTU he made a suggestion to give it to RTU trainers. I replied saying long sleeves and SGT mercedes is prize given to SGT for their congratulations as SGT. Giving it to lower ranks make SGT useless. Why go for SGT if a SO Traffic Trainer has mercedes. Why go for SGT if you have long sleeves at RTU. Same conception. So the point in these ideas is just to throw SGT basically in the dump and give these to lower ranks.

When deciding to add long sleeves to patrol sergeants, part of the reason was that it somewhat reminded us of dress uniforms that higher-ranking officers wear in certain police departments. Since RTU already has an exclusive uniform feature, this was given to Patrol as a low-impact, easy-to-implement feature.

Uniforms for jobs like Police have variations that are, by definition, 100% status symbols. We don't want all ranks/divisions to look the same.
