Welcome to the May 2025 edition of the Monthly Roundup. This newsletter is designed to keep our employees and the public updated with any changes in the city or department. Attached to the newsletter will be a message from the office of the Chiefs of Department, awards, key moments and careers. And just like that, another month has passed. Thank you everyone who gave me such a warm welcome back - I am excited to step up as Deputy Chief again and help lead the PD once more. May has brought quite a few changes to various command teams, welcoming several new faces and saying goodbye to others. Thank you to all who are leaving us and have been vital in running the department.A new operation, organized by the Patrol command team, is currently underway. NOPE2DOPE focuses on charges related to section 8 of the penal code. Campaigns are always fun to get involved with and massive prizes are involved - don’t forget to take part! More Fentanyl Yoga race series events have also taken place throughout May, supported and sanctioned by the PLPD. A reminder that these events should not be interfered with and offer an opportunity to engage in different situations out of the normal on-duty routine. In addition, the recent V6 release trailer showcased an exciting, beautiful, brand new police department. Massive thanks and congratulations to Peeps and the rest of the development team for their hard work and achievements.
Finally, the Employee Satisfaction Survey is once again open, giving everyone the opportunity to give us your feedback, positive or negative. I am personally particularly interested in the opinions of newer officers on the force as I am looking to improve the onboarding process. As always, the rest of the Chiefs and I are very happy to take any feedback directly. Alexis has demonstrated outstanding performance as a TFO, setting a high bar for leadership & communication. With these skills alongside a handful of others, they were able to flawlessly execute tactical plans in a situation where they were outnumbered but managed to neutralize several suspects. Their teamwork & professionalism sets a great standard for what we love to see in a TFO. Congratulations on the behalf of the Office of Operations Services.
