From what I gather of recent update logs, it seems like they are still making some - albeit small attempts - stability improvements to the client of the game but no real work on SRCDS. Will a stronger server machine actually make any difference? I feel like a lot of the issues are just down to outdated software?

Just a quick update, we have increased the tickrate of the server to 25, which should lead to a smoother experience and 10ms less in-game ping for everyone.
We have also made several changes that should increase the in-game performance for players, which should be especially noticeable in bazaar, leading to both higher FPS and fewer stutters.

I hope you will be able notice the difference.
