Hello fellow roleplayers.
Recently I've been slightly inactive and I would like to explain why.
April was a hectic month:
- I celebrated my birthday (20 years).
- I attended to a "combat-medic"-ish education with the Danish Army Home Guard (10 days).
- I attended to recertification of my first aider permit with the Danish Red Cross (1 day).
I'm working as handicap-helper beside my voluntary involvement in the aforementioned organizations. Furthermore, I have friends and family to socialize with. I work approx. 4-5 days every week. The length and meeting time variates from week to week which allows me to be on the server when it's night in Europe (Denmark timezone GMT+1). Once in a while I take advantage of this "schedule". This is not possible for the majority of you and it possibly explains why you don't notice me on duty that often.
3 days ago I received a letter with a call-up paper from DEMA (Danish Emergency Management Agency) where I'll complete "national" service as firefighter / rescue specialist. It takes 9 months and I begin on the 1st of August 2016. Once that's over I'll either extend my contract with DEMA with an additional 9 months so the total length of the service is 18 months. Otherwise I'll send an application to every single Danish ambulance company and thereby fulfill my dream of becoming EMT / Paramedic (Emergency Medical Technician). In some weekends it will be possible for me to return home but certain weekends it's required to remain at the barracks due to exercises, prolonged incidents, availability in general (stand-by awaiting call-outs) etc. However, I will obviously most likely prioritize real life when I'm home in the weekends.
I'm honored to have the rank of Lieutenant which I currently hold within the Police Department. I'm not actively planning the termination of this position provisionally. I still have the knowledge/experience which is required to obtain this rank regardless of my recent and upcoming inactivity. I'll remain updated on news concerning updates of the Paralake Penal Code, procedures in general etc. I'm aware of the minimum requirement of 4 hours of duty each week and I'll do my best to accomplish that. I appreciate everyone's effort/involvement in the PLPD. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for reading this message.
Regards, Lieutenant B. Nixon - Paralake's "Unofficial" Fish & Wildlife Division.
