Suggestion Title: Portion of PLPD fines going into city budget
Suggestion Description: Portion of tickets go into city budget
Why should this be added?:
- heavily inspired dudes from the last post that was made about mayor budget, the idea: a % of PLPD tickets/fines could go into city budget.
There’s only 1 policy you can add that brings in money. The only real money maker for the budget is sales tax, and if that is above 1% you’re basically done for. There is allot of tickets being given out on cars and arrests, I think it’ll be awesome if some of the fine goes to the city itself rather than disappearing into the PLPD.
If this is already a thing, I’m sorry. But I don’t think it is.
It would also be great if the PROFIT statistic moved off of 0%. You have to do maths because it doesn’t work.
What negatives could this have?:
- too much money coming into city. This would have to be tuned so it’s balanced and fair
- I guess police could give out more fines so they mayor can add better polices for police, but I really do feel like this is a stretch.
What problem would this suggestion solve?: Only significant way mayor can increase the city’s money is to increase sales tax, which is dangerous as people like to then get trigger happy. There is only one policy for increading money
