3.4 - User called the police on himself after killing someone and then decided to shoot the police got 1 week off

1.2, 5.3 - Racism, the user also raided the same property twice within a hour period got 2 days just saying felling like it should be reversed

You want them decapitated with a guillotine or something? One is someone using bad words, one is ruining the gemeplay experience for multiple people.

The ban duration generally depends on the history of a user and how they've behaved during the situation. Its up to the staff member how long they decide to punish for and it also varies between staff member.

I dont know the context off the ban, for all i know the guy dropped a single n-bomb. I personally dont think it deserves week+ bans unless it's been gross misconduct or severe racism. That said, its up to the staff member.

@FINLEY I trust the staff team and their judgement. People have received permanent community bans for toxic behaviour in the past. if it was that bad, the ban would've been longer. What do you think is appropriate punishment?

@FINLEY i cant do anything with that. it's not the only reason behind the users ban, for all we know he said the soft a as a general slur. If you're that unhappy about the ban length take it up to the staff member but what more do you want dude??

All cases are different, and punishments can vary depending on how exactly the particular rule was broken, as well as the user's history.

For example, the guy that received a 1 week ban has already been banned 4 more times in the last month, with 3 out of 4 of those bans including 3.4 in the ban reason. To then break the rule again would result in a more harsh punishment, as the user clearly shows lack of improvement with shorter bans.

Meanwhile, the guy with the 1.2 + 5.3 ban hasn't been banned since October, nor has he ever been banned for 1.2 or 5.3 before.
We also don't know the whole story, and whether it was simply him saying one discriminatory word/phrase, or continuous discrimination towards a person or group of people, which would also be a factor in determining the length of the ban.

@FINLEY Yes racism is still racism and he got banned for it and if he didn't break any other rule then ban will probably stay the same. Sorry for telling this but it's just how it is

I will not go into detail about the bans as I don't feel like its needed. The bans are completely justified along with the lengths, you have no insight to what took place in both of these situations and I feel like you are just attempting to find issues with other peoples bans because of your ban.

When handing out punishments there is a few things which we consider, these are but not limited to; Recent punishments, previous punishments for same rulebreak, the severity of the rulebreak along with how the user acts within the admin sit. If you feel like the ban lengths are invalid you are able to make a staff complaint on the staff member who issued them.

But to answer your question straight up, racism is considered bad and will be dealt with accordingly, it is mainly up to staff discretion when it comes to these sort of situations.

I will be locking post as @Niko has explained it near enough perfectly above.
