My Mercedes Mclaren SLR was also stolen and tiered by the same guy, He did this to me yesterday aswell @Double J can confirm.

He's been stealing and crashing cars on purpose.

My Mclaren P1 (The Red One) was also stolen by the same person and tiered. Clearly when these people steal cars they do it with the intent of tiering the car.
