Suggestion Title: RTFO Improvements.
Suggestion Description: I understand 100% the fact that RTFO's cant gear up unless a TFO+ is already geared up. However, for a bank robbery I think they should have permissions to do so, (only for bank robberies) and maybe put a timer on how long it lasts for etc so people cant abuse this? Or potentially when you leave the area, the last bank robber dies, lots of ways around it i'm sure other people can think of some too!

Why should this be added?:
There's been numerous occasions when i've been online as an RTFO and we've been stomped at a bank robbery due to this, without having any chance of competing.

What negatives could this have?:
RTFO's could potentially use this to farm hours (to get 3 hours to apply for TFO) however, like I said the idea of a timer could fix this?

What problem would this suggestion solve?: PD having 0 chance at a bank raid without active TFO's or TFIC's.

This is already a thing in the policy.

You can self-deploy as an RTFO in the event of a confirmed major firearms incident or where a panic button is pressed. A bank robbery would be a confirmed major firearms incident.

EDIT: I've just learned that this isn't physically possible as the game won't let you gear up as an RTFO if a TFO isn't already in-gear, which seems a bit silly to me. In which case I think lifting the mechanical prevention for a few minutes once a bank robbery has started would be perfectly reasonable.

Yeah that's what I was trying to get at mate, physically impossible.

I remember the time when RTFU were just TFU with different model
Anyways they deserve to have and to do more

It was possible when it was first released RTFO were basically TFO then they got nerfed

I had the same concern and messaged Megasaw about this. It is mentioned in the policy, just once. I believe changes should be made to clear some confusion regarding this, ideally it should be mentioned in the RTFO policy as well..

it is only mentioned here: RTFOs, whenever possible, should deploy along with another STFO+ when responding to an incident. In the event of an authorised self-deployment, RTFOs can only gear up if there is another STFO+ already in gear.

That's not correct. RTFOs also have their own policy: https://sites.google.com/view/tfu-handbook/policies/rtfo-policy
  • 2.1 RTFOs may not gear up until authorised to deploy by another TFO who holds a higher certification than "Recruit". They may also self-deploy in the event of a confirmed major firearms incident or if a panic button is pressed.

Im all for this. I often see RTFOs not having the chance to gear up in time and having to run to bank without any gear on, which can definitely limit our ability to win bank robberies (especially if im the only one in gear, im kinda buns)

RTFO is intended to be a probationary role, which is why it is significantly easier to obtain compared to becoming a full TFU officer. These restrictions exist to maintain a level of quality control and to ensure RTFOs learn from established TFU officers, giving them a higher likelihood of successfully passing their main application.

That says RTFOs can only "GEAR UP", not deploy (the game mechanic mentioned in this suggestion). If an RTFO is already geared, they may still self-deploy to confirmed firearm incidents and respond in line with the policy Acerius referenced above. The relevant section of the handbook that you are talking about is specifically refers to the mechanic that prevents RTFOs from physically gearing up when no STFOs or TFICs are online and in-gear.

That said, I am in favour of introducing a mechanic that allows RTFOs to gear up regardless of STFO/TFIC availability. For example, a 211A bank robbery alarm could grant RTFOs the ability to gear up within the first five minutes, even if no STFOs or TFICs are online. I'm going to have a conversation with some of the developers to see what can be done.

It can 100% be coded similarly as to how the Barett works when the policy is turned off, however, could possibly lead to further issues depending on HOW it's coded.
