Suggestion Topic: 2.9 Advertisements and Images

Suggestion Description:
Here are the proposed changes to 2.9. Changes highlighted in orange.

2.9 Advertisements and Images

Adverts, rentable billboards and image frames must adhere to certain standards. Adverts are to be formatted realistically, akin to ads found in newspapers or news headlines. Use them for advertising businesses, broadcasting news, or buying/selling items or services.

Images and billboards must be used realistically and display content that would feasibly be shown on a sign, poster or billboard. Image entities must not contain:
  • Inappropriate content, or content that violates basic conduct rules
  • Sexually suggestive content
  • Low effort images
  • Unedited in-game screenshots that contain HUD elements, player names or items like the physgun
  • Distorted, overly cropped, or zoomed images
What is considered to be an acceptable image/advert is subject to staff discretion. Players may not use other players’ images without permission. When taking inspiration from another player’s concept, players are expected to create their own images to suit their needs.

Why should this be added?:
- As it stands, the current rule suggests you use gameplay elements that are no longer possible.
- Clarifying a little further on what is acceptable to see in images.

What negatives could this have?:
- There are no foreseen negative outcomes of clarifying and tweaking this rule the suggested way.
