Is this a new law or a change to a current law: New

What law do you wish to change/add: 9.?

Why should this change/addition be made: There currently is no direct law against mugging or robbing someone under direct gunpoint or any other means I.e deadly weapon. This law would allow police officers to arrest someone with an additional law instead of just theft and threat of physical harm.

What is the aim of this change/addition: This law would give police officer the right to enforce and act on a armed robbery. This law would give police officers the ability to arrest someone who mugs another by means of severity instead of charging them with 2 other crimes that they in directly break.

Additional Information:
I believe this law should be written like:
Any person who intentionally causes harm to someone or intimidates someone by means of a weapon or verbal communication breaks said law. I.e if someone attempts to steal someones belongings from another armed with a deadly weapon would break this law.

This is already covered here:
11.6 Theft
Any person who dishonestly appropriates any possession belonging to another person commits a criminal offence.

Misdemeanor - liable to 3 years maximum imprisonment and $3,000 maximum fine.

The text size just to make it that more obvious.

Regardless of indirect or direct violation of law, it is still a violation and you can still charge them for it.
The current laws are not broken in this regard, and do not need fixing.

Not only that, but you can also charge the gunman for the following laws if they make the act of a mugging: 7.3, 7.5 and 7.6.

Tfw bean can can't just stack up offences.

There's no way you can legislate for every possible version of an offence.

Mugging breaks multiple laws.

Theft
Threat of Physical Harm
Illegal transportation of an Offensive weapon

There is a difference between staking up charges and charging someone with multiple offences which they did act on. Obviously, be just when it comes to the punishment, but use discretion based on the situation.
