Hello fellow officers,
Today, I am pleased to announce a PLPD initiative exclusive to RTU called Support and Mentorship. This initiative is designed to address many of the issues officers have been facing within the department and is tailored to help you achieve your goals and ambitions within the PLPD with the highest quality support and guidance possible.
This initiative encompasses a wide range of new resources, carefully designed and refined over the past four months through feedback from all ranks within the department, as well as our own internal analysis.
The initiative also aims to enhance camaraderie within the division and bridge the gap between those starting their careers in PLPD and those with years of experience.
Starting today, we will be rolling out the following resource as part of the Support and Mentorship initiative:
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to create a helpdesk ticket to RTU Command.
Kind regards,
RTU Command Team

The initiative also aims to enhance camaraderie within the division and bridge the gap between those starting their careers in PLPD and those with years of experience.
Starting today, we will be rolling out the following resource as part of the Support and Mentorship initiative:
- Operations, our new RTU events program, designed to give RTOs more reasons to utilise their equipment and engage with trainers and command members in a fun, live server event, will include large-scale speed enforcement operations and the much-loved and anticipated checkpoints, starting today. Operations will be scheduled and hosted weekly, with ad hoc events held randomly throughout the week by our new Events Team, led by Training Supervisor Wayne Grant.
- Regular training sessions are designed to educate primarily RTOs and a limited number of regular patrol officers on everything from RTCs to how to use their supervisor powers.
- One-to-one mentorship is designed for those who want more help than what can be provided through training sessions and general chats. These are tailor-made to your goals, and alongside your mentor, you’ll work to achieve these, be that on the live server, training area or over Teamspeak.
- Regular fortnightly newsletter designed around recognising RTOs and RTTs who have gone above and beyond, highlighting new changes to the department, and so much more.
- Direct communication to designated area experts for every area of the PLPD to answer any questions you might have from people who know it inside and out, so you can be sure you're getting answers you can rely on.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to create a helpdesk ticket to RTU Command.
Kind regards,
RTU Command Team
