The United States Marine Corps
General Information
The United States Marine Corps is one of the five branches of the United States Armed Forces and one of the seven uniformed services of the United States. They specialize in amphibious operations and are part of the United States Department of Defenses’ Department of the Navy.

History
The history of the Marine Corps dates back to November 10 1775 in Philadelphia when two battalions of Continental Marines were established, who were capable of fighting both at sea and on shore.
They actively fought in every war the United States has been involved in as of today. Some of these wars include WW1, WW2, the Vietnam War and the Global War on Terror including Afghanistan and Iraq.
As of 2017 the USMC has around 186000 active duty member's and around 38500 reserve marines, making it the smallest of the five branches.
