Suggestion Title: Vehicle Breakdown System
Suggestion Description: Introduce a lightweight vehicle breakdown system where vehicles have a small random chance to experience mechanical issues while being driven. These issues would temporarily affect the vehicle until it is repaired. To ensure players are not stranded without assistance, this system would only activate when at least one Roadcrew player is online. If no Roadcrew are online, vehicle breakdowns would not occur.
Examples of possible breakdowns:
Engine Overheat - The vehicle begins smoking and loses power until the driver stops the vehicle.
Tire Blowout - One tire pops, reducing steering control and speed.
Engine Failure - The vehicle stalls and cannot move until repaired.
These events should occur rarely to avoid frustration and should use minimal visual effects (simple smoke or warning messages). Players experiencing a breakdown would need to call Roadcrew to repair the issue, encouraging roleplay interactions between civilians and city services.
Why should this be added?:
- Creates more roleplay scenarios between civilians and Roadcrew players
- Gives Roadcrew more consistent work outside of crashes and impounds
- Makes driving feel more dynamic and realistic
What negatives could this have?:
- Could frustrate players if breakdowns occur too frequently
- Requires proper balancing so breakdowns remain rare
- May occur during a chase which will be annoying
What problem would this suggestion solve?: Giving Roadcrew more opportunities for roleplay and meaningful work.
