how about you do some:

  1. Form a small loop in the rope, leaving a long working end.
  2. Pass the working end through the loop to create a larger, adjustable loop.
  3. Pull the working end to tighten the small loop around the standing line.
  4. Adjust the larger loop size by sliding the knot along the standing line.
  5. Secure with an overhand knot on the working end if needed for stability.
