120, 60, 80, 90, ??

Answer is my fine sir: 96

How you do it is 120 divided by 5= 24
24 times 4 = 96
But then you also think about, its the 5th number in sequence so the answer could also be 120.

With some rather simple math, i get this:

∑n=1∞n3(132+103+32√+64+2x52+2x132103+32√√2242)n=42∑n=1∞n3(132+103+32+64+2x52+2x132103+322242)n=42

Simple math my arse. If that was simple maths I wouldn't have scored the lowest grade possible on my maths GCSE. To me, that looks like a crackhead on sniff tried to type the answer to 21+21. What tf are those ticks and weird Ms on their side and the two oo anyways?

12 squared is 144. So the square root of 144 would be 12. No offence but someone in year 4 could have answered that.
In year 4 I was still struggling with adding and subtracting. I still don't know my time's tables. I don't know where you got that 12 from tho? Why not use 15?

You can use 15, it was just an example.

Why would the Military even ask you this you don't really need to be good at maths if you are Infantry, All you need to be is Fit, Know how to use a weapon, Know how to not die.

as a maths expert i can say for certain that the answer is trivial and left as an exercise for the reader
