Just for everyone who is gonna go crazy about remingtons being op, he was just sniped by baggers and was on like 1 hp, at least we can conclude that remingtons have insane range.

The docks are actually shorter (200iq technique) than the real 870's maximum effective range (roughly 70 - 90 meters). The gun is pretty well balanced. After around 100 meters, buckshot pellets start to dissipate its their force significantly. Under that range, the chances of hitting a lethal or severe shot are high.

The only thing you could do to balance it would be to implement a damage dropoff system if one hasn't already been added.

yh but it's a videogame and no one likes being shot by someone with a shotgun from 100m away

No one likes being shot by anything from far away. Even if it's a game, a shotgun is still a shotgun and it should work the same way. And you need to understand that if your automatic rifle costs more and "looks cooler", it doesn't make it better in every way. Though shotguns also have cons: limited capacity, fire rate and reload times. It requires you to be more careful when you shoot and if you are: you're rewarded with a really powerful weapon. People seriously underestimate the power of a shotgun.

My point was that shotguns should not do much damage at all at this range, its a video game and if shotguns were to be as effective in perp as they are IRL there would be a huge balancing issue, i personally think the shotguns in perp are at a good point, however at times the remington feels like it does 99 damage at most ranges (ofc this isnt the case but its how it feels when you get remy sniped!)

You just took and got a shot with a shotgun that the M24 seems to fail at almost everytime. I am still baffled at how some of the weapons work on this. When the M24 gets buffed I will come back.

Are you guys even going to elaborate what you disagree with?

i dont want to be shot far away from a shotgun in a video game
Did you actually read my post about why you should be able to get shot from a shotgun from far away in a game(mode) that has strong roots in realism? Granted, if it was something like CSGO which has a big competitive scene, it makes absolute sense to balance it down to avoid overuse and general "AIDS". I need to ask, what makes it different from being shot from far away with a rifle?

I also have a feeling you are thinking about it doing the same damage, but as I said before, buckshot pellets lose horizontal velocity very quickly making them considerably less lethal at a range. My argument is that you should still be able to hit people at that range.

Yh but any old idiot can shoot at someone general direction from 100m away. It completely removes the skill aspect from the games

Well yeah, but if it does practically no damage what’s the point?
why are you trying to argue it, shooting requires skill, it may not do much damage but they could bleed out and if a cop keeps raindance peeking then it's fucking stupid. Yes PERP is supposed to be quite close to real life but that doesnt mean it has to identically replicate real life

You're wrong, the 870's effective range is around 25 yards with buckshots lol
