Suggestion Title: Municipal Worker job.
Suggestion Description: Adding a new job, the Municipal Maintenance worker.

The Municipal Maintenance workers job would be to go around the map to marked locations, such as street lights, pipes, bins, electrical boxes, hydrants, CCTV cameras and other public structures and repair them. Every 10 minutes, a text will be received by a municipal worker, telling them to go to the location to make repairs using their toolkit.

Ideal vehicles for this role include:
- Ford Transit with a custom livery.
- GMC Vandura with a custom livery.
- Nissan Leaf with custom livery (So they don’t run out of fuel).

Locations for “jobs” to complete include:
- Street lights across multiple districts, including the highway.
- Public access fuse boxes across the map.
- Bins, that could be placed as world props that are tipped over when the job begins and picked up when they’re repaired.
- Pipes located in both sewers, the pumping station, and other locations involving pumps.
- Toilets in the public toilets.
- Ticket barriers and other fixtures in the Paralake metro.
- Fire Hydrant.

The job NPC could be located in the following places:
- Outside pumping station.
- Shared with the Road crew building (Makes sense as both are city council contract workers)

Models for the job role could be a spin off of the RC job outfit with a different coloured top, a repair technician style jumpsuit, or a high vis suit. A hard hat would be cool.

Perhaps the job could also do some “roadwork” jobs as well if people seem to like that idea however I’ve omitted it from the suggestion for now as it’s probably not going anywhere if this is the basis of the suggestion.

Why should this be added?:
- A full server with more jobs available for newer / passive players is ideal.
- Probably far more enjoyable than courier is right now.
- Allows for opportunity to learn the map, without pissing other player off like courier does when couriers don’t know the map very well.

What negatives could this have?:
- People might find the job boring.
- Job requires less interaction with other players than existing ones.

What problem would this suggestion solve?: Currently the passive job to learn the map would be courier. However, that is half dependent on players making orders. In this case, the player making the order will be annoyed when the courier is very slow. This job would solely be interaction with map entities that you are told to interact with. You can take your time on this job getting to a location and players wouldn’t really be affected by bad city workers in any way.

I really like the idea of this job, it isn’t incredibly intrusive yet provides unique roleplay experiences. I would really like to see maybe certain Dispatch cameras not working until the worker fixes them (if that is even possible). However, adding a new job would be rather hard.

Once you gain enough xp what would you receive on your rank-up? (Other than simply completing jobs faster)

Also I’m again not sure if it’s possible, but similarly to players being able to start fires or explode cars to provide RP experiences for Firefighters and Roadcrew workers respectively, maybe people could be able to destroy certain things which would then alert the Municipal Worker.

I feel like 10 minutes is way too long, i think it should be lowered to around each 5 minutes or so, also i think it would be cool to add when for example a public fuse box goes out in the area of regals aparatments, the lights in it shut off (would be nice if this would only happen when a worker is online)

this would be a great idea, good to boost passive rp too, also a nice and easy way to make money

I think this is a brilliant idea. Would be quite interactive due to the number of facilities in the map.
Another role they could do is electric testing, like testing if lights are safe, for example.

The problem is, this job would have zero impact on anyone on the server, and it would be alone in this - road crew fixes your car, mayor implements policies that affect you, secret service defends them from you, taxi drives you around, courier gets you packages, EMS heals you, police kills you, firefighters puts down fires that would threaten you.
And I think the closest job to this one is not Courier but Firefighter - fires happen around the map and you do learn the map while putting out fires, but again, that's actually impactful and there are interactions to be had(both with the EMS-like functionalities but also whenever someone starts a fire in their property by blowing up meth).
With this job you can only get interactions through randomly meeting someone at the location, and I think that's a very bad design.

To fix that - there can be repairs done for properties, but then what would break? The only things in a property that can currently break are props(like when lights/tvs are shot and not functional anymore), or doors(via a bomb or crowbar, the latter only disabling your ability to lock it for some time). Such a worker could be used to repair props(they most likely couldn't be picked up until repaired), and doors, but with doors if one doesn't come the impact is worse than if a Courier doesn't deliver your package(however a compromise could be reached here if we make the time required for the door to self-repair longer instead of completely removing the feature, if the time stays the same then they won't make it in time to repair the door). On the topic of doors, they could also take over the responsibility to get stuck people out of properties from the police - however this could be used by people acting in bad faith(for example to raid someone), so either a rule prohibiting that would be needed or it could be accepted as part of the game - adding a way for others to interact with this worker. If we were to add more things that could break in an apartment, then it would probably include gas, water or electrical installations, and if one failed then the apartment would be rendered unlivable(a gas leak can knock you out or start a fire) until repairs were done, the worker could be assigned routine check ups to ensure that doesn't happen too, but I don't think I'm really sold on the idea.
Without these, this job solves no need that players have, and it doesn't create one.
As a side note, such a worker could also have the responsibility to clean up graffiti if it was added - https://perpheads.com/threads/graffiti.70913/#post-512096

Counter argument: not everything has to effect the server. Some jobs should just exist to have fun on and be unique. The roleplay opportunities and making the world feel alive here and fantastic.

I don't think they should because without interaction roleplay isn't really encouraged. You're basically making one person go around doing tasks that have nothing to do with anyone, and get money from doing so, while every other job would make them interact with people in some way. So I think adding this in the way described in the suggestion would be a net negative for RP.

Having players fixing doors and the likes of other players when the doors respawn just gives players a reason to repeatedly hound the city worker to repair their doors and drop everything they're doing. Same deal with fixing TVs, why would a city worker repair a shot out TV or spotlight belonging to a private citizen? You could also moneyfarm by shooting your friends TV, repairing it, then shooting it again, a far less impactful but equally as effective version of the easy to catch medic moneyfarm method.

Adding nonsensical forced interactions would be wasting the role for no real reason. The whole point of this suggestion is to add something new, unlike anything we've had before. This would be perfect for learning the map in, Without having to immediately respond to places with some degree of urgency like you have to with current jobs. It would also be a chill job to sit on and make passive income, Going around at your own leisure fixing map entities for pay, The addition of forcing an interaction with other players beyond having to maybe block the road for a few minutes to get to a street light on the highway defeats the entire point of the reason this role should exist regardless.
