Punishment Type: Blacklist
Appeal Type: Dispute[Evidence]
Which staff member issued the punishment?: @Creepis
How long were you banned/blacklisted for?: 2 Weeks

Your Steam Name: Piers
Your Roleplay Name: Piers Lance
Your SteamID: STEAM_0:0:56018171

Why were you punished?: being afk

Why should this appeal be considered?: I wasnt afk for 10+ minutes (which by the way is impossible due to the job afk checker) i was fighting fire at large subs 3....Both bazzar and large subs caught on fire at the same time. My clip shows a 911 call coming at 0:13 seconds in the video, that the bazzar was on fire. The suburbs call came in at 0.44 seconds into the video. I responded rapidly to the subs fire as i cant be at two fires at once.

Additional Information:
I provided this evidence multiple times showing im not AWAY FROM MY KEYBOARD but i was fighting a fire

Hello, I was the person who opened the report on you.

You seem to be confused, as you weren't punished for failing to respond to Suburbs. You failed to acknowledge several radio calls for fire department to the bazaar, and remained idle in the FD while a lot of expensive guns and holiday items were burning to the ground. A good 40% of the walkable space in bazaar was on fire. Your inaction contributed to the loss of upwards of $500k. if not more. Not forgetting the initial person who started the fire to begin with, they are a separate matter now.

All of the items for sale that burnt down do not return to storage, and are lost permanently. As a crafter, this can take time to replace, even when justifiably burnt. It's not just money that was lost, it was also time as it takes significant time and effort to source materials, craft and then put for sale the items in question. The latter is quicker but adds to the time sink. I'm sure some premium coins were probably caught in the blaze too.

This additional evidence shows you idle in the FD:

Here is a screenshot of the raging fire which me and Baz Ravish had to fight on your behalf due to your willful ignorance, we had to swap from PD to FD to do this:

Here's me returning to the FD after putting the fire out:

Hope this clears up why you received this punishment, as your inaction caused more damage than was necessary.
Even if this dispute is accepted, it is likely to amend the punishment to rule 4.1 under law 4.4.

Firstly, i didnt think i was punished for responding to Suburbs 3? not sure where you read that in my Dispute?

Secondly the clips you provided are completely different times to when I was told i was AFK and bazzar was on fire, by staff... there where multiple bazzar fires within a hour i got them mixed up and i woudlnt have written a dispute if i was properly informed of this! I do believe Creepis accidently closed the sit when trying to tell me this but correct me if I'm wrong! Anyways if i was told the correct time I would have confirmed i was afk as i went for a MASSIVE SHIT at this time.

I am regretful for all the crap lost at bazaar but you cannot blame me for the damage caused instead the person to blame is the lad that started the fire (whom from what your saying was punished???)

to concluded FireFighters need to shit to!

I won't be responding after this post, as my input from this point on won't be necessary, and any responses I do add would not add any new information to this dispute.

You've answered your own question. Your dispute is written in such a way that it seems like you think so, clearly you don't anymore.

This would still fall under 3.16, as you went idle on the job. I don't fault you for having bodily functions, but the NPC was 8 seconds away, so you could have resigned on the spot and gone AFK thereafter. I have no information and don't know if you did or not, but you should have created a report detailing that you'd be idle which would have saved you from this altogether.

At the time of the fire, we were under the impression that you were still an active member of the FD, and we would have made the switch to FD ourselves if we didn't have a firefighter on duty.

As harsh as it sounds, your presence as a firefighter caused several people in the PD to expect your response. We'd have made the switch earlier if we had known you weren't on-duty (had gone off-duty to do your business). So in a way, yes, you did inadvertently alter the outcome of a situation by doing literally nothing, which implies that you have some blame to bear.

I get that I was technically AFK while on duty and broke 3.16 and that’s on me. It wasn’t intentional though. I had been actively responding to fires just before this happened and right after

Im a very experienced FF with 100s if not 1000s of hours on the job, this is the first time something like this has happened and isn’t something I make a habit of.

I’d really appreciate it if the punishment could be reduced since it was a one-off situation.

Rule 3.16 states: "If you are on a job, you should quit the job before going AFK."

Upon review of the demo footage, you were AFK on the job for over ten minutes, which is a breach of 3.16. You should have either resigned at the NPC or made an F6 report in-game informing us that you had to go AFK, where you would be demoted, so you aren't AFK on a job.

This also confirms that you were AFK whilst on duty.

As for reducing the punishment, this is not something we handle in disputes; disputes are for disputing the legitimacy of a punishment and not its length. If you feel Creepis has given you too harsh a length, you can create a staff complaint here.
