Suggestion Title: make pd more apealing
Suggestion Description: often times on pd its only 3-5 cops online even at 100 players online and this is because pd is simply so unappealing for many reasons, first off all reaching a rank or qualification that makes the game fun takes way to long and for a server with a recently dwindling player base it should be made faster and easier to reach these ranks ( of course without sacrificing quality of officers) another reason is that repremans and disciplinary action lasts way to long especially when a pro active cop that plays allot, a split second tactical decision should not cost you a month of waiting to get the stuff that makes pd fun, so what i'm saying is it takes to long to reach fun qualifications and disciplinary action is to harsh when monthly playtime and overall performance is not taken into consideration.

Why should this be added?:
it would attract more players to the pd and will help stop the problem off rp disappearing at peak hours when the city looks like a warzone

What negatives could this have?:
it may lead to more ia complaints and officer misconduct but that's to be expected when more people join the pd but begers cant be choosers when only 1-3 tfu can be on at peak hours.

What problem would this suggestion solve?: i will solve the problem of the pd being over all understaffed at peak hours and will help maintain rp at peak hours.

your 1st claim which states that " often times on pd its only 3-5 cops online even at 100 players online and this is because pd is simply so unappealing" is simply untrue.
And your 2th claim is acctually kinda fair.

Somewhat agreed but not really, i was on PD today and as soon as i got on i was met with a supervisor request, then before i left PD i was met with another supervisor request, then I gave an OR and eventually hopped off duty because it wasn't very fun. My point being that as a SO and below PD is fun as u want, u can do what ever u please where as when ur a higher rank ur expected to perform these duties without fail and its boring. As for reprimands and such, as long as ur not a drone u dont really get any

For me, the problem has never been the amount of cops on duty, the 'dwindling' player base (what?), or anything else you mentioned. It is the fact that every time I am on cop for more than 5 minutes, I get overstimulated from all the screaming going on in the radio. You could turn it down, or even mute it, but then what is the point? Having a functioning radio is what makes police fun. Even when there is a Dispatcher the radio can be absolute aids to my ears. (There are Dispatchers that are really good at Dispatching, when they are on duty it is 70% fine but there are still some idiots screaming down their mic)
I also hate the fact that most you do is get shot at or shoot at people. There barely is any good police roleplay left and the ones that do police roleplay take it way too deep, affecting the experience of the civilians in a negative way, only benefitting themselves really. There are people that do good police roleplay but then the next issue arises, people don't want to sit there and do proper /me's (giving ID etc). They just want to get it over with and go on with their day.

I've had talks with community members about potential solutions to this but there really aren't many without making it aids for new officers. I suggested things such as having to apply for voice chat, which is silly but would fix the issues I have.
One other solution is that Supervisors start handing out punishments for misuse of radio, but this will take up a lot of time for the Supervisors and will be almost impossible to keep track of.

I resigned from my PLPD positions quite recently due to these issues and some other personal things I didn't like which are necessary to keep the PD running. (Having to do ORs for example)

Imo i been unhappy with the PD for a while, but this seems to have missed the mark (original person) you mentioned about reaching ranks faster, however i disagree heavily with this, the current state of the PD is basically already a speed run, without any sustained complaints you could get stg in 3 months max if you speed run and i still already think that stg is too easy to get, as you have some fuckin morons in the roll, same with corporal where they do not have any idea how to actually play.

Medium is right with alot of what he says dispatchers even the very good ones are limited by the tool's for example if you on dispatch and you are the only “supervisor” on you still need to make an IA on a person, which is just aids for both IA and the person making the report

For this i think there needs to be some changes
1: Have trainers rolls rules looked into, and add sections on the handbook, as they seem to be out of date.
2: Introduce a button for dispatchers to mute the radio for anyone thats not SSTG plus, this has been suggested so many times and imo should be added
3: More oversight when it comes to SGT apps, what i mean by this is that a command member OR a trainer of similar rank. Can make the OR. This would give patrol trainers more to do / can do more with other divisions

Also with the original statement that the PD is not fun, yes its not do you know why…
Shots fired at slums, shots fired at church, shots fired regals… Its annoying, you have traffic with the autistic vests going into shootouts getting domed when thats not what there primary roll is, which leaves 1 or 2 people that chases cars actively and they still will get shot, Or patrol will be chasing cars when they have a car that goes 80MPH max.

This is wishful thinking but I would also like
1: Giving SGT a different primary, like a single shot rifle as there supposed to be trusted more the others. It would give more officers a reason to grind
2: Make it so you don’t have to go to shootouts IF you are in traffic gear unless bank raids are about as traffic is supposed to be about cars (this is already a thing with the SL65 but im thinking for the rest of traffic)

These are just some thoughts I have though

you literally dont have to respond to anything thats the cool thing

Agreed to not responding to incidents, when its the 4th shootout from the same group of people within an hour, radio is being spammed by 5 people, you've got uninvolved people running into the gun shots, IA breathing down ur neck if you dare shoot the wrong person (lol) its such an easier life to say code 6 lets go drive around instead

the 'dwindling' player base (what?)
I dont understand why is this statement always taken with such offense? With all sort of respect but youre all acting as it youre being told the world is ending and you just wont believe it. Perp is 13 years old and garrysmod in itself is even much older. Servers die, no server stays forever and the server population IS getting lower whether you wanna believe it or not.

Even with all the new players coming about a lot of them are just there to minge or simply never comes back. Its not an offense, its simply a statement that everything eventually dies, and the server state absolutely is struggling a little more than it used to whether you actually wanna believe it or not, even though we often do reach Max players its not as long and frequent anymore.

Anyway enough of my ramblings- as for the suggestion. Its hard really giving much to police, you state you want it to be easier to reach higher ranks, but without reducing quality. At the rate and way the system is going right now, we got Corporals and Sergeants who should never even have gotten where they are, reducing the requirement or making it easier will make a tremendous risk of quality reduction to officers.

Command members have way too much to actually do for a game, and sergeants has way too little to do so they never come about to do ORs or even go on duty. I do believe there needs to be improvements and better functionalities but not by sacrificing the quality of how the PD works and is run, which is debatably already smt that could be better. With there only being 3-5 cops on duty at peak time is super super rare, except for around dinner time, because for obvious reasons, people are making and eating dinner and cant/shouldnt really be playing when spending time with family and/or eating.
