Here are all the possible outcomes to an investigation. In your case, you landed on dismissal.
Comment Card: This is an informal way of PSD Sending a message to an individual in regards to what he has done wrong, and how he can work on this in the future.
Reprimand: A formal expression of disapproval from an act that you have committed/omitted. A reprimand should be seen to be a correction rather than a punishment. A Reprimand stays on your record for 30 days.
Written Warning: A documented formal disciplinary action given to an officer by a Superior Officer after they have made breach to policy or law. [Written warnings are permanent]
Demotion: A demotion is given to officers in which has made breach to a policy and law and is seen unfit to carry out their current role. ''Reduction in rank or status''. [This is noted on your disciplinaries in writing, permanently. You are not removed from the job, just reduced in rank.]
Dismissal: [You are here] This can be being discharged from the Police Department entirely or being discharged from a certain role/position.
Blacklists are independent of these punishments and are given out based on context and outcome of an IA.
Here's an example of gross misconduct from me that led to a blacklist from the job. This is my own record and happened many, many years ago.
As Viper said, you can re-apply at any time once the minimum time has passed.
