Greetings from a complete RP noob

Hello there to all of you reading this, how are you doing?
The idea of making an introduction forum post is a little alien to me, but I'll try my best.

Recently I've been playing a lot on this server. I had a bit of a Source Engine obsession for a few weeks and I was just hopping around servers in the game to kill time.
I wasn't really planning on sticking around at first, but the Paralake map really captivated me in the best way possible and I decided to return to it despite my awful ping.
I actually found the tutorial missions pretty enjoyable and, before I really realized I was reading through the server laws and help guides on my phone before bed. It all came across as very well thought-out to me (altough maybe that's standard for RP servers?) and I felt really motivated to actually try and have some fun with the whole thing.
As I stated, I never really played GMod RP before, nor do I have a whole lot of experience with online games as a whole, so this is all pretty new to me. I don't really know where this server stands on the serious vs unserious sides of RP servers as a whole but I'm enjoying my time with it and I think people end up commiting a lot more than I expected out of an online game, haha.
The only other time I ever played on an online server was many, many years ago on a now defunct Minecraft Raid-Grief enabled server. In a strange way, being held at gunpoint in game or hearing gunshots coming from a building nearby reminds me of the raids and wars that would sometimes be waged in that server and, altough it bothered me back then I'm actually having a pretty fun (and oddly nostalgic) time being raided and having my stuff stolen and whatnot, even trying to fight back sometimes (when appropriate, to no success so far).

As for a bio, hmm...
My in-game name is Jacob Gruner. I just spam clicked the random option a few times but the name kinda stuck to me now!
I use voice changers because I feel like they increase my immersion a bit. I like to mess around with pretty much anything the server has to offer. Really enjoy the jobs (and how not-overwhelming they are) and the crafting, as well as the very player-friendly premium system.
I don't usually talk a lot and I tend to keep to myself, but I'm open to interacting with others in the game. Just bear with me as I kinda try to find my way in both the map and the role I want to play, heh (Am I doing this thing right??).
I don't really know what else to say, so here's some pictures I've taken (don't mind my graphics settings). I really *really* do like this map.

Oh, and one more thing I really like about this server (that I forgot to mention hehe)
It's very nice to have a server that calls itself Inclusive that doesn't make the players feel like they're walking on eggshells the whole time.
Maybe that's just my impression of it, but in my short time I've seen a few jokes and heard people say some things that I feel some more extreme online groups might frown upn, but I thought they made everything seem more realistic and enjoyable.
Some more extreme examples of such subjects I've seen were deleted and punished, so it's not like I'm saying the Admins don't care or turn a blind eye.
I just think it's a nice balance of things and I reckon such a thing deserves praise! So uh... Good job!

welcome to the server! hope you stay around and keep on enjoying it, lets be real we all had pretty similiar experiences when we first found out about the server, it's kind of a canon event tbf

Welcome and I'm glad to read that you're enjoying yourself so far! We're all still getting used to the new Paralake map, but it's definitely very fun to play.
Hopefully you have already found some people you can hang around with, and help you protect the precious belongings inside your base.

I can imagine that the gamemode might be overwhelming, definitely when you do not have former Gmod RP experience.
It seems that you have already checked them out, but the help guides should get you on your way. Don't be afraid to ask any questions that you have in the Discord, by making an f6 request or by using /help ingame!
