Real World flying

Need to upgrade out of that Cessna quick as!!
Can't be living a life without aerobatics now can we?

Say what you want about ermak being young, but let's be honest. Ermak is doing way fucking more at his age than you were. Pretty sure I was busy rubbing the fact that I was gay in everyones face back then, meanwhile ermak is, y know, flying fucking planes.

smol update:

I am now 20 years old and a fully licensed Private Pilot and have about 120 flight hours in the Cessna 172S under my belt, having passed my Commercial Pilot check two weeks ago.
In Autumn I'll be going out to fly the DA42NG to get my Instrument and Multi Engine ratings, and thereafter it will be graduation next year and on to a major Russian airline, with which I have been fortunate enough to have signed a contract.

I guess the moral of the story is, don't let your dreams be dreams.

When I had to choose between University and a Pilot Academy I chose Uni, and to this day I deeply regret it. I believe I made the wrong choice, as I believe I would have been much happier as a pilot than as a professional in the field that I chose. I am now considerably older (24 years of age) and, even though I do not have any debt from my studies, I also do not have enough income to save money at this time.

Some mornings I wake up and I just say "fuck it, I'll just find a well-paying service job in a Nordic country, share an apartment, and save money for four or five years until I can fully afford flight school back in my home country (where it is considerably cheaper)", but then reality hits and the fact is I am not getting any younger, there are no guarantees that I'll be able to save enough, and perhaps that train has departed.

As a soon-to-be pilot, although considerably younger than me, do you think that it is too late for me? Perhaps I should focus on something like recreation flying and working as something else, or am I still in time?

This has to be one of the most inspiring posts I have seen on the forums. You should seriously be proud of yourself for achieving this!
