Suggestion Title: Designated spots for low value packages
Suggestion Description: Orders under a certain amount should be sent to designated spots, like when there is no PPS (keep this as an option maybe, but don't force PPS to deliver them.).
A lot of shop orders now are 20-40k meaning I can make 2-4k from a package vs maybe 100$ from some of the smaller player based orders.

Why should this be added?:
- In many cases PPS doesn't have a salary meaning they only get a commission from the packages they deliver.
I think because they often don't get paid to do a job they should do what profits them the most.

Tilin said we are forced to deliver ALL packages even the shitty ones, I know basically no PPS driver does that. So either changed the rules around it or implement something like this.

Tilin placing a 10k SHOP order in my van xd

What negatives could this have?:
- Some players not getting their packages.

What problem would this suggestion solve?: It's a job, we're there to make money. It's like driving around the entire map delivering a piece of candy to someone sometimes.

Useful Images:

"It's a job, we're there to make money" its already the highest-paying legal method by far i think they can deal with some inefficiency

i just don't do em, or i do them out of courtesy and let them know that people tend to deliver higher-value bulk packages

i like this suggestion. having the option to deliver to a specific NPC, especially when there's an unreliable courier OR if I don't want it delivered to the base, is a great call

I know basically no PPS driver does that.

4.6 Taxi Driver and Courier

If you are a Taxi Driver or a Courier, you must always do your job to the best of your ability and not attempt to exploit the job for personal gain. You must also always follow Sections 6, 8, and 11 of the Penal Code.

We constantly get reports about Couriers being AFK, just to find out they're not taking packages out.

It's already a high-paying job as is. It won't kill you to do smaller orders too, so instead of putting the responsibility to pick up your own packages, preventing too many orders from spawning should also be a thing, so you don't get to pick and choose.

Either that or increasing the size of slots in the van, but at a slightly lower money output. Or even 2 "smaller" slots.

As long as you get paid via commissions (depends on the mayor) it makes no sense to deliver packages that doesn't get you paid at all. You're basically working for free.

It's unrealistic having to deliver packages for what is essentially just slave labor.

So as I said:
So either change the rules around it or implement something like this.
There can be other ways of fixing it too, I'm just trying to address the problem.

You're not doing slave labor. You're doing the job. Sometimes you get a lot, sometimes you don't. It still averages out to a good number.

Yes it is slave labor? If it's only commission based and an order gives you nothing, it's working for free, aka slave labor.
Lets say you do Doordash irl and you have an order that will pay you 0$. Would you take it? No, of course not. Even if on average you get a decent paycheck overall. Time is money and you don't give away your time for free when you work.

I suppose you could also add tips as an option to the orders to give PPS an incentive to deliver smaller packages. That could fix it too I suppose.

Also the definition you have is not great if you ask me... "You're not doing slave labor. You're doing the job."

So if I have an 8 hour per day job and only get paid for half you're saying I wasn't a slave the other 4 hours?

But you aren't doordash. You're not an independent contractor.

It's like saying would you rather work 8 hours for $15 per hour or would you rather work 4 hours for $30 per hour and work the other 4 for free? It's part of the job, if you don't want to do the small orders, then don't do the big ones either. Not everything should be sweating for profit, sometimes interracting with people is okay too, but I know that's a strange concept to some.

someone clearly hasnt had 30 phone calls about where their package is cus they had to divert to bunker to deliver 20 lye

Hop on PPS and deliver me a burger every time I need one please.
No one is going to do that because its stupid.

Define small orders. Because I did many small orders 5-10k player orders. When it's a 500$ order as the guy that was complaining had ordered, and in practice no other user will bring them their order. We lose a lot more money bringing him his order as I could just do 5k+ shop orders and make 10x-100x more. Might as well delete the PPS job because no one plays it the way the rule states (I'm yet to see it at least), so everyone must be blacklisted.

Another fix could be to add a service fee for smaller packages so there is at least a tiny bit of incentive.

PD people would play basically for free as its fun and interactive and you get shootouts without losing anything. PPS users won't play without an incentive. Why do you think there's usually no PPS when there's 10% tax? Because no one orders at 10% tax.

its not slave labour its a job on a game, if u dont like the job dont do it bruv
I like the job, but the way everyone ACTUALLY plays it... Not the way the rule states.

its fun and interactive
Believe it or not, but dodging those small orders from players leaves out the "fun and interactive" part of actually roleplaying a delivery driver and interracting with others. Instead you're treating it as if it's mandatory to grind the fuck out of the job.

everyone ACTUALLY plays it
No, they don't. A lot of people do, but not most.

Most people play Courier properly. Or even when they prioritize higher rewarding packages from shop orders, they still take out the player ones.

You're really out here complaining about "slave labor" whilst you made $418,231 in the span of 2 hours and 3 minutes yesterday. Keep in mind the job has NO RISK to your wealth, except the occasional $1000 ticket for parking. So even if you took all of the packages, which at would've costed you AT MOST $100.000, you'd still have made $150.000/hour.

To expand what I meant by it costing you $100.000, this means you made more than $4000/delivery at 1.2 delivieries/minute (100 deliveries). Even if we were to say that you took 25 (1/4) deliveries where it was only $50 to you instead of the usual $1000, that number would still be rounded down to $300.000.

Why do you care so much when pps is already the best money making method. Also yes it is realistic apart from you being a salaried employee and not an independent contractor food delivery drivers will take orders that cost more in gas to keep there status high

I made good money because I was alone for the most part and had a lot of high value packages and I do things effectively. I've played plenty of PPS in the past and it's rare to see numbers like that if you don't have 1-3 people making really high value orders and you're alone.

Player orders often have you go far for 100$. Meanwhile I could do like 3-5 of Bazaar orders and make 25-50k in the same time.

In the span of those 2 hours the tax was 1%.

PPS is good if you make good use of your time as it's not a steady income.

Why are there usually no PPS when there's 10% tax? Because no one thinks it's worth it. Why? Because you don't get high value orders.

And if it's all about the money then why do people wanna play PD so much over PPS? Because PD is way more fun so you don't have to reward them nearly as much. You need an incentive to want people to deliver packages.

As I often say "I'm here for a good time, not a long time". PPS is a good time when you're making money.

"To expand what I meant by it costing you $100.000, this means you made more than $4000/delivery at 1.2 delivieries/minute (100 deliveries). Those 50$ would cost a lot more than $100.000 because they often take a lot more time too.
You make good money from high value orders because they usually don't take too long either as they are often in very available areas. The 50$ orders often have you go to bases that are far away from the common delivery areas such as Market Street or Bazaar. Going to the Lakeview area means I will be missing around 3-5 packages I could deliver to Bazaar. And you said it's around 4k per delivery which means that that 50$ order will COST me $16000 in lost commissions. You might say I can do them later. Well... That 1% tax does often disappear eventually and then the orders disappear and I won't stay on forever. So time is money in this case.

I don't think we'll come to an agreement so this will be my last statement.

i've worked as a courier IRL, believe me, I wish it paid like perpheads does.

Courier is free money. you can listen to music, and drive around for free since fuel costs nothing, and repairing the vans is free. There literally no need for saying its not worth doing, im also pretty sure player packages are the only ones that HAVE to be done. NPC ones do not take priority, but this also means if there is 2 couriers on, dont ignore small packages to then force the other player to have to do them
