Why should this player be punished?: 3.4 – The user did not take sufficient precautions to avoid drawing police attention. While the officers were responding to the Slums, instead of remaining hidden in his apartment, he went outside and unnecessarily shot an officer.

Evidence Link:

The raid was still ongoing, I had gone upstairs to move stuff from the raid then came back downstairs afterwards.

You unnecessarily risked your life and freedom; there was no valid reason for you to return, except to initiate further combat with the officers on the scene.

In the 3.4 guide, it states:
"Committing a crime and staying around the same area without taking precautions to avoid arrest, police attention, or further combat."

Considering you were raiding (committing a crime), you were perfectly safe in your apartment. We made multiple announcements, so you would have been aware that we were on the scene. Despite this, you chose to come back downstairs and shoot an officer who was collecting DNA. This was an unnecessary risk that ultimately led to your death.

Had you waited, you likely would have gotten away with it. Since you did not own the property, the DNA would not have led us to breach your hiding spot.

The raid wasn't finished? The back doors had not been opened and I wasn't finished.

You did not take enough precautions to avoid arrest, police attention, or further combat. Had you waited and continued the raid while we were gone, that would have been a different story.

@Palodhi what was the reasoning to continue engaging with cops? What was you trying to get from this
I was trying to finish off my raid, my org members had also been shot and I heard medics reviving; possibly leading to them being revived and charged. The back doors had yet to be opened and that what was my intention on returning. I wanted to open the original doors to finish off the raid and save my org members if they had been put into custody. Plus if I had waited for police to leave and then carried on doing the raid again, surely that counts as a new raid meaning I wouldn’t be able to finish it off as your not allowed to raid the same place within the same hour.

We did not encounter any raiders while clearing the entire Slums building, so from our perspective, the raid was already over. Your decision to return and kill an officer to continue the raid doesn’t make sense to me, as you essentially committed a serious crime in front of multiple government employees. This also constitutes a violation of Rule 3.4.

You had no valid reason to kill any officer, as it had not been proven yet that you were a murderer, raider, or defender. From our point of view, you were not involved in the crime, I had to figure this out by reviewing my demo.

If you had stayed in your apartment, you would have been safe. Since you didn’t own the property, none of the DNA would have led us to your hiding spot. If you had investigated properly, you would have noticed that the only person being revived was another police officer. Every civilian inside the Slums building was already dead.

Ultimately, this comes down to a failure to take precautions to avoid police attention or to leave the area after committing crimes.

Had you followed that rule, you wouldn't have needed to commit any additional crimes.

Also, considering you had already secured most of the weapons inside your apartment, there was no urgent need to leave it.

The raid was still ongoing I don’t know what else to say. I briefly transported guns upstairs and had already started shooting at police before this. I believe one of my mates got shot by police already at this point so we had already made contact with police at that point. There’s not much to say, the raid was still clearly ongoing, the doors hadn’t been breached and we had just made contact with police. Your saying if I investigated properly I would tell that only police were getting revived, how was I meant to check that when police were already on scene? This comes down to a failure of the officers to secure the scene. It was still ongoing and you had assumed it was over as shooting had stopped for a minute or so.

The raid was clearly no longer ongoing. You had already thrown your weapons into your apartment and were hiding while we cleared the entire building from bottom to top. We announced ourselves multiple times. The weapons you threw into your apartment were left there to be picked up by you or your friends after respawning. The raid effectively ended when you chose to hide inside a property we could not identify as belonging to the raiders. Instead of staying hidden, you came out again and lost your life almost immediately.

I’ve said my points, the raid was still ongoing.
