Why should this player be punished?: We received a call regarding an ongoing raid at South Gate, and several officers, including myself, responded. While en route, I observed numerous life alerts and, with roughly 40–60% of responding units already incapacitated, deemed the area unsafe. After arriving in the Business Sector and seeing approximately 75% of officers eliminated, a second supervisor also declared the area Code 6, so I withdrew toward Collier's. While withdrawing, a bleeding civilian approached requesting medical aid. As there was no immediate threat nearby, I treated their injuries. Once the area had quieted, with only brief bursts of gunfire at approximately 02:07 and 02:26 before falling silent again, I cautiously re-approached. During this time, I spotted an armed individual outside and fired at them, although I'm fairly certain I hit the wall instead.

Seeing no visible hostiles, I collected DNA evidence before heading toward Tidals to issue a warrant based on the evidence gathered. As I left Tidals and entered the roundabout, I encountered Spliffy walking down the street with a weapon on his back. My assumption was that he had come from behind Tidals toward the gas station, where some individuals park. As soon as I made the turn, he stopped, turned towards me, drew his weapon, and opened fire.

I am having difficulty understanding how this engagement was justified. I was leaving the area near SG, and he had plenty of time to simply continue walking away and leave the area. He was only walking down the street with a weapon on his back, and I was not presenting any immediate threat. I see no reason why he needed to stop, draw his weapon, and engage me, as it only created additional attention toward himself. Assuming he was involved in the SG raid, he likely had a much better chance of escaping by continuing to leave rather than stopping to engage me. From my perspective, it felt less like a necessary engagement and more like it was done for the kill.

I'm also fairly certain this incident led to two additional shootouts in the Bazaar, although a demo would be required to confirm whether he was involved in either of those incidents. @Acerius

@Spliff2k22 please explain what you were doing leading up to kill ejecting the LEO from the unmarked yellow Ford Crown Victoria because - from what I can see in the logs - you were not in combat nor directly involved in anything prior, yet seemed to be wandering aimlessly about, and why you had decided to shoot them in the first place.

Please explain why you then fled into the Bazaar and extended the shootout into killing LEOs there. I note you were already warned for disconnecting during the middle of the Bazaar shootout, but it would be good to understand why it had even ended up there in the first place. All in all, it seems like whatever had happened at Southgate or Tidals had been concluded for a good amount of time without your prior involvement.

Providing demo perpheads_demo_2026-7-27 15-37-44 would be helpful, too.

By way of an update, I have managed to make contact with the player. They have uploaded their demo which I will record and review.

In short based on their review of what I have asked, they've stated they had thought they killed someone in a car who was shooting at them and they therefore shot you because they thought they were subsequently wanted for murder.

Although they did not in-fact kill anyone, around 4 minutes prior at Southgate they were caused to bleed by another player and it is likely it from their POV they thought they had killed someone but it was instead one of their associates.

Once I have reviewed their demo and matched it up to the timings in your clip, I will consult with another staff member and we'll come to a conclusion accordingly.

Firstly I apologise for the length of time it has taken to come to a conclusion on this. I wanted to ensure I had all of the facts, and took the time to review @Spliff2k22's demo and edit it so I had a side-by-side video of both your POV and his. I also consulted with other staff members to ensure the outcome is correct.

As a TL;DR before I explain further:
  • @Spliff2k22 killing you - and anything they did up until that point - is deemed to be permissible, for reasons I shall explain.
  • What we are accepting as having broken the rules is what was found in the demo after your POV ends, whereby @Spliff2k22 went up to the Casino Plaza, down via the Metro into Bazaar, shot an LEO there, and hid in the back of a Bazaar Shop. For this, a 1-week ban for 2.5 and 3.4 will be issued.
Why killing you was permissible
As per your POV and the demo, you did get yourself involved in the incident at Southgate even if you did not die there/make entry. @Spliff2k22 was part of this raid and in-fact the person you shoot at 2:25 in your clip was him. At the same time as you shooting him, he was being shot at by two flankers (@John bob and @chopperr) who had arrived in a G-Wagon, and he had also just prior gunpointed a Paramedic in a Toyota Prius to leave (Avid Feminist).

Because of you shooting at him and the two flankers, he had to retreat to the Harbour. He stayed at the Harbour holding an angle, expecting to be followed or chased by the two flankers, however this did not happen. After a minute or so he makes the decision to abandon the raid, but is still under the reasonable belief that he is being hunted by the flankers and yourself (to him, just a cop, not necessarily you specifically as he never saw the yellow unmarked prior).

Where he was trying to escape and - as self-claimed, retrieve his car - he spots you at Tidal Apartments. Not a significant enough amount of time had passed to consider the whole of this area to be absolutely safe, and his thinking in killing you so as to not be slowed down or caught by cops in the process of escaping is logical.

We did discuss whether he should have waited for you to initiate, either by exiting the vehicle or calling him out on the radio, however it was felt that if he had allowed you any opportunity to apprehend him/call him out/initiate a flashpoint, this exponentially increases his chance of being caught or spotted by the previous flankers.

This is corroborated as the right choice as straight after killing you, he went up to the stairs at Casino Plaza, only to look back down at the Business Roundabout and see the same G-Wagon and two flankers appear where he had shot you - presumably because they knew they were hunting an AS50 user. Him engaging said flankers is a tenuous choice, which will be explained, but - for all intents and purposes - he did nothing wrong in killing you without warning.

What we're actually accepting as part of demo review
After your POV ends, @Spliff2k22 heads up the stairs to the Casino Plaza. He looks back down towards the Business Roundabout and sees the two previous flankers in the G-Wagon (@John bob and @chopperr) arrive at your now disabled unmarked cruiser. For some reason, rather than continuing on his journey, he wastes time by engaging the G-Wagon - whom are not aware of him having left up towards the Casino Plaza - by shooting and disabling their car.

This is a very questionable choice as it ruins his chances of escape almost entirely - he could have simply continued running towards the Car Dealership to retrieve his vehicle as he states he had intended. He gives away his position to the two flankers and forces them to try and pursue him on foot by disabling their car, where they were otherwise oblivious to his exact location.

In addition to this, rather than running directly towards the Car Dealership, his choice of having engaged the flankers drove him to go down the Metro stairs - presumably to minimise visibility of himself to the flankers. This is, again a very questionable choice. Upon entering the Bazaar he sees a cop who is entirely oblivious to what is happening and is clearly interacting with others, and kills them. He then - rather than running back up to the Casino Plaza via the other Bazaar entrance or retrieving a car from the Bazaar Parking Lot - hides in the back of Bazaar Shop 9.

This again compounds him self-ruining his chances of escape as it allows other cops to respond to what is now a very enclosed and difficult to escape from place, and also gives a huge amount of other players visibility of him killing a cop, which could in-turn have caused more people to dial 911 and get him warranted. After this point he disconnects and reconnects causing a further shootout at Bazaar, which was dealt with via a warning issued by @Medium on 27/07/2026.

As such, the 1-week ban reason will be as follows:
2.5, 3.4 - User during the middle of their escape, engaged previous flankers who were down at Business Roundabout from the Casino Plaza when they were oblivious to the user's position, severely diminishing their chances of escape. The user then pathed down via the Metro and into Bazaar and shot an LEO in plain view of a huge amount of people, who clearly had no knowledge of the user nor their involvement in the previous Southgate raid or in having killed an LEO at Business Roundabout. The user then hid in the back of Bazaar Shop 9 as opposed to making their escape. The user should have not engaged the flankers and immediately ran to the Car Dealership, or at the very least done so after killing the LEO in Bazaar.

Many thanks to @Collier, @Bnjemann, @curak, @Exnem and @GamingPeach for providing input and assisting me.
