Server Suggestion Allow yourself to be banned from gamling at the casino front desk

Description of the idea: Talk to the NPC at the front desk of the casino (which currently serves no purpose AFAIK) to ban yourself from gambling at slots, blackjack, poker and the wheel for a period of time, 6, 12 or 24 hours.

Why should this be added? (pros): To stop yourself from gambling away all your money at once at the casino. Helpful for those who struggle to stop themselves.

What negatives could this have? (cons): None that I can think of

*Other additions: I think this would be a pretty good addition to the casino as many real online casinos have the ability to block yourself from gambling.

maybe there should be some playtime barrier stopping newer people spending ALL their money on casino, like it wont let you go under a certain threshold of your bank until you hit a certain amount of playtime.

Nah but seriously, The addition to a casino alongside the sheer amounts of money rich players are losing en-masse is fucking gorgeous and now players must have self control in order to become rich, which is a skill.

I do not think this suggestion would benefit the gamemode itself, only individuals who cannot control themselves who at this rate deserve the loss of money, such people deserve to piss all their money away as its all on them.

What a selfish and ignorant thing to say. Yes, it’s a game and yes, it’s virtual money, but really? How can most people in this thread, especially a staff member, be so blindly ignorant to the fact that so many people are different to you and don’t have the same self-control over certain things and are actively seeking ways to prevent them from harming themselves, even if it is just a virtual currency. God forbid anyone with a problem would ask for a feature to help them regain some control over what can very easily become an addiction. And then everyone shrugs it off with absolute ignorance with things that essentially translate to ‘I know people want this to help themselves but if you have an addiction like this you deserve to suffer until you lose everything’. How ridiculous. I haven’t even gotten to the part where this can turn into a very serious mental illness and here you are being blindly ignorant. I would have probably agreed with you myself as someone that also knows when to stop. But why can’t you comprehend that people are different and that they might lack the same control that you do and can easily fall into an addiction? Yes, it’s virtual currency but you should know better than most players that this server means a lot to them, so it doesn’t feel quite like fake money to them. You should really think about your attitude, especially with what I believe to be your preferred future career path where you would often be left picking up the pieces of somebody’s life one night which may be absolutely consumed by addiction or other mental health issues.

yes it's absolutely fine to not have something like this implemented, it is VIRTUAL CURRENCY
i won 1.7mil then lost 5mil to the slots and blackjack and felt no better or worse for it because it is VIRTUAL CURRENCY

i seriously hope this post is a joke for your own sake because victim mindsets like these and constantly taking sheer excess offence won't get you far


on the main suggestion, this was added to be a money sink of sorts so i think we should let it be a money sink if people are so inclined as to gamble all their money
