Awful ping

I usually play with a ping of 100-110 when on max pop, but since Thursday or so I am always on 225 or higher. @Creepis told me he has had similar issues and that they fixed themselves in a week's time, but honestly I would rather know what the issue is and solve it ASAP. Sometimes using a VPN helps (and lowers it to around 125), sometimes it doesn't. I have joined both with other devices using streaming platforms like Netflix, and with my computer being the only connected device, and the issue persists. Any help is welcome.

What is your isp, what ASN are you connected to, and how does your home network look like?
I messaged you the exact same issue on Steam but never got to me back :sob:

As far as I know it's a issue with the host or some other routing problem. Using a VPN fixes it and I have no clue what causes this. After a week it's fine again but I really don't want to buy a VPN everytime just to play PERP at a decent ping. My mobile data carrier ISP is the same as my home and there I had the same issue by doing a tethered USB hotspot to my PC while it was connected to 5G.

When I disabled ipV6 however my ping improved a bit so try that first.

My ISP is Movistar (Spain), ProtonVPN is the ASN I'm using, and I am not quite sure what you mean by the last one (I am NOT tech-savvy when it comes to Internet-related issues, sorry)

I will give it a shot!

Addition: From time to time I get locked out of PLPD.Online for hours on end for no apparent reason, don't know if it's related.

Cheers. I presume it's the "Your ISP is AS3352 (TELEFONICA DE ESPANA S.A.U.)" bit?
Yes thats it. Sometimes your 'route' can change causing issues. Compare it to a highway incident where you need to take an hour long detour. The internet works the same. There's some technical tools i could annoy you with but i'll google for you first
