Why were you punished?: i said a few naughty words i do not want to repeat
Why should this appeal be considered?: I want to take a moment to acknowledge something I deeply regret. Recently, I used a homophobic slur — and I need to take full responsibility for that.
There is no excuse for what I said. It was ignorant, disrespectful, and harmful. I now recognize that words like the one I used are not just “bad words” — they carry a long and painful history of discrimination, exclusion, and violence. Using that kind of language, in any context, contributes to a culture of hate, and I am truly sorry for being a part of that.
I know that saying "I'm sorry" doesn’t undo the hurt. But I want to be clear: I’m not writing this to clear my conscience — I’m writing it because I care about doing better, and about making amends for the pain I may have caused others. Whether someone heard me directly or not, the fact remains that I contributed to something bigger than myself — and that’s something I’m actively working to understand and change.
I’m taking time to reflect, to listen, to learn, and to unlearn the harmful things I’ve picked up — consciously or not — over the years. Moving forward, I’m committed to being more mindful of my language, more supportive of the LGBTQ+ community, and more responsible for the kind of energy I put into the world.
If you were hurt by what I said, please know how truly sorry I am. I don’t expect forgiveness, but I do hope to earn back trust through better actions and real growth.
Additional Information: Apology for My Inappropriate Behavior on PerpHeads
I want to begin by offering my deepest and most sincere apologies for my recent behavior on the PerpHeads Garry’s Mod server. I used a homophobic slur during a moment of thoughtlessness and frustration, and I now fully understand the harm that such language can cause—not only to those directly affected but also to the inclusive and respectful community that PerpHeads aims to foster.
What I said was unacceptable, and I take full responsibility for my actions. There is no excuse for using hateful language, even in the heat of the moment or while playing a game. Words have power, and mine caused hurt, spread negativity, and violated the rules and values of a server that I respect and enjoy being part of.
I am genuinely sorry to anyone I offended or hurt with my words. I understand that slurs like the one I used contribute to a toxic environment that marginalizes LGBTQ+ individuals, and that’s something I never want to be a part of again. This experience has been a wake-up call for me to reflect on my language and my behavior, both online and offline.
I’ve taken time to educate myself about the impact of hate speech and the importance of creating safe, respectful spaces for everyone. Moving forward, I am committed to being a more thoughtful, inclusive, and supportive member of the PerpHeads community.
I hope this apology is a step toward making amends. I would be grateful for the opportunity to prove that I’ve learned from this and to regain the trust of the community. Thank you for reading, and again, I am truly sorry.
