Why should this appeal be considered?: Hi everyone,
First and foremost, I would like to sincerely apologize for the behavior of myself and my friends during the situation. We got caught up in a stupid and unserious moment, which is far below the standard we normally hold ourselves to when roleplaying.
We were running around the market after having just had a good interaction with another player, and we had purchased some weapons that we could use to protect ourselves and our new house. While we were there, one of my friends ran into a young boy. I think what initially caught his attention was the fact that he was a little surprised to see such a young boy on a server where there is quite a lot of weapons and violence involved, especially considering GMod as a game in itself.
My friend 'MartinTheGamer' initially started a fairly normal interaction with the boy, asking him for his phone number. The boy was not interested in giving it to him. We then started arguing with him and ended up saying some unfortunate things.
When the boy refused to give my friend his number, my other friend 'OMGWalther' said, "Maybe he wants to have sex with you." The boy then pulled out a weapon and started shooting at us, so we returned fire and killed him.
We moved on and honestly didn't think much more about the situation. We thought it was somewhat funny and took it with a bit of a joking attitude, which we also assumed the boy had done.
We later found out that, unfortunately, the boy had been genuinely upset by what had been said when all three of us were brought into an admin sit with Dank. Without having the opportunity to properly go through the situation, and with the boy not being present either, we were permanently banned by Dank before we had the chance to apologize for the unfortunate situation.
We feel that perhaps a less severe punishment and possibly a warning beforehand could have been sufficient, but we completely understand that this kind of behavior is not tolerated. Looking back on it now, we are mature enough to recognize that what we said was inappropriate, regardless of the context in which it happened.
We sincerely hope that we can be given the opportunity to play on the server again, together. We have just returned to GMod after what feels like almost a decade, and we genuinely consider your server to be by far the most entertaining and enjoyable one we have played on, with what we also think is the best map.
