How long were you banned/blacklisted for?: 6 Months
Your Steam Name: VOIDEDX
Your Roleplay Name: Quinn Tonn
Your SteamID: STEAM_0:0:923843436
Why were you punished?: For Mass RDM
Why should this appeal be considered?: Hello,
I'd like to apologize.
First, I want to say that I understand what mass RDM is now, and I understand why my actions resulted in a ban. I'm a newer player, and while I believed I was roleplaying my character's motivations, I realize that what I did still broke the server's rules.
Here's what happened from my perspective.
A firefighter repeatedly attacked and tried to kill me and my friend. We went to the police station to report it, but the officers ignored us. One officer even told us to "go f**k off." After that, I openly said in front of multiple officers that if nobody was going to stop the crime, I'd come back with an AK. I then bought one and was stopped by police several times, but they only told me to put it away. I even told one officer I was "going to do something devious," and I wasn't detained.
Because every attempt I made to involve the police in roleplay was ignored, I believed my character had reached a breaking point and would retaliate against the corrupt police. When I returned to the police station, there weren't any officers there. Instead, I saw several players fighting each other outside the station. From my perspective, they were actively brawling, so I opened fire. I understand the staff either did not see it that way or concluded differently.
I'm not trying to argue that my actions were correct. Looking back, I should have contacted staff, reported the firefighter, or simply left the situation instead of escalating it myself. I understand now that my character having a reason does not make mass RDM acceptable.
I'm only asking that you consider the context. My intention wasn't to randomly kill players for fun. I genuinely believed I was continuing the roleplay after multiple attempts to get police assistance failed. I know now that I handled the situation the wrong way, and if I'm given another chance, I'll follow the server's rules and contact staff instead of taking matters into my own hands.
Thank you for taking the time to read my apology and consider it.
