Suggestion Title: Better Camera Placements
Suggestion Description: (I wasn't sure whether this goes on Police Suggestions or Map Suggestions, but I set it to Map due to needing actual models for the cameras)
I've worked with the PLPD for about a year & a half, and one of my favorite divisions is Dispatch, due to being one of the first divisions I got to work with as a higher-ranked member (until it was merged with Patrol and the Senior Dispatcher rank was erased from existence), and also due to being the division I felt most comfortable in, being away from the stress of shootouts while still providing valuable assistance in the form of information.
With the introduction of V6, one of the first things I've checked was the new Dispatch Camera Layout, and I found that, in all of the locations where high-risk incidents normally take place (e.g. Slums, Tidals, the Industrial section of Business), there are little to no useful cameras for Dispatch to use in order to properly assist officers with incidents. Some of the main issues I found:
1) Slums has pretty much no coverage, with the closest camera that can actually see what's going on being Taxi Station, showing only the front & the Parking lot (which isn't much considering any model that's not right beside the sidewalk doesn't actually show up due to the distance). I'm not asking for cameras inside the apartment complex, but surely it could be affordable to have a better view of the new fire escape section of the building, or maybe the roof? Formerly in V5, Dispatch could get a near full view of the outskirts of Slums, and was even able to get a visual inside the windows of Apartment 1 to 3, which sometimes meant the difference between life and death for the officers once Dispatch managed to pinpoint crims locations.
2) Tidals has the Promenade camera, which yes, does give a full view of the back of the building...which sees little to no action, since a lot of the raids and shootouts there tend to favor the main parking lot side due to the plethora of halls, stairs and windows. Useful for flankwatching, but if someone is raiding Tidals, they most likely will just keep the fighting to the front of the apartments.
3) Much like V5, there are no cameras to show the Industrial buildings. Previously, it was mostly fine since to access Glass Co. and Parker Building (R.I.P.) there was only one way in and out, and that could be monitored by Dispatch (Veikko's camera even allowed for Dispatch to get a visual to the front of Glass Co.). But now, with such an expansive area with multiple different connecting roads, there really should be at least 1 or 2 cameras in that general area.
4) Much in the same vein as issue 3, Suburbs continues to be a big blind spot for Dispatch, only now it's even worse than V5 since you ACTUALLY don't have cameras in that whole section of the Map, the closest being the Metro cameras that don't give you any visual in the actual Suburbs. Before, at the very least, you could gather info from the Storage or Monorail camera and sometimes catch info on suspects dragging a shootout out to the streets, but now there is nothing that Dispatch can do other than assign units to go in blind towards whatever is going on there.
5) This one is a bit of a lesser issue honestly, but I find the Bank cameras lacking. Sure, you get a full view of the topside, but the most common way of doing a bank raid (as far as I've seen) is gonna focus on breaching the vault, contesting the stairs, and escaping through the vents. A camera at the actual vault would be infinitely more useful, or, if it's not feasible, better cameras to watch the sewer exits. There is NO visual on the Pumping Station, the closest camera being the Underpass that distantly shows Stalburg Tunnel, which you'll only actually get info from once the suspects are already leaving the scene (and most likely 90% of the police force is dead by this point). The Regals coverage is fine but could be better, considering it is one of the more expensive housing options, just 1 additional CCTV wouldn't be too much of a stretch.
Why should this be added?:
It'd allow Dispatch to be more proactive in assisting officers, instead of being glorified Alexa-esque assistants, which hopefully sparks more interest on a PD division that's pretty much on life support for how dead it is.
What negatives could this have?:
Could heavily affect the balance between crims and cops.
What problem would this suggestion solve?: Making the CCTV actually rewarding to use, since as of now, at least in my experience, there is little to no incentive to use the cameras, especially if you're dealing with 2 or more incidents.
