then I’ll be able to come back to PERP again

A word of advice from me: Don't skimp on the wifi card. In case you ever don't have access to ethernet, having a good wifi unit installed to the PC is a virtue I took for granted D:

I use a wifi dongle at the moment and have used the same one when I first got a PC around 6 years ago, It's actually really really good, the connection is amazing.
