Can not hear Garry's Mod Sounds.

So I can not hear Garry's Mod sounds I've been on numerous servers trying the following:

• Verifying Game Cache of Garry's mod
• Taking out my headphones and plugging them back in
• Set steam settings to be to my headphones
• Turned volume up - Sliders.

I can't seem to think of anything else.
Any Ideas?

When you unplugged your headphones, was your GMOD open?

Are you sure you haven't got a volume thing on your actual headphones? I can edit the sound via the PC and on my headphone wires with my turtle beach headset. (Which sucks even though it costs 50 quid).
