Hello Officers,
Human Resources has found it necessary to make a change to the Reinstatement and Resignations policy, we hope to outline these changes and make it understandable for all to those whom it may affect.
The following changes have been made to the “Reinstatements” section of the “Reinstatement and Resignations” policy, which can be found here.
“2.4 Any individual who has any form of disciplinary action issued on their record since their resignation will become ineligible for reinstatement.”
What does this mean:
Anyone requesting a reinstatement to a previously held rank, who would be eligible within the HR boundaries, which is outlined by the Careers page application quota, who has been given a record infraction since resignation to a lower rank is no longer eligible.
For example:
A Sergeant resigns to the rank of Senior Officer, 2 weeks after this they receive reprimand.
They are no longer eligible for reinstatement to any rank.
Previously, HR used the Careers page application quota. Since reprimands only affect applications for 1 month all they had to do is wait that 1 month time and they could be reinstated to Sergeant.
This is no longer the case.
Anyone who receives an infraction on their record and wishes to progress back to the rank they previously held must obtain their past rank through application.
We make these changes to ensure the quality of our supervisors is up to standard, and that the quality of all officers is held to what we as a department deem necessary.
Any questions can be forwarded to Human Resources, via the helpdesk.
