Description of the idea:
Allow criminals to purchase body armour from the drill NPC during bank robberies.
For balancing purpose, the armour will be relatively expensive, and will only be available to people robbing the bank for the duration of the robbery itself.
Body armour will be revoked from bank robbers once the money has been handed into the NPC.
Purchasing armour will also reduce 10% of your final reward due to less risk being involved.
The armour given will only protect the torso area in the same way police armour does. Limb shots and head shots will still do their desired damage. Bank robbers who are killed but revived will lose all their armour upon death.
For balancing reasons, the amount of armour gained will be determined by the following factors:
Amount of cop slots.
Amount of bank robbers.
Examples on how this will work:
3 or less bank robbers:
Heavily armoured (75 armour) if more than 10 cop slots
Moderately armoured (same as cops) If 5-9 slots
Mildly armoured: less than 5 cop slots
4-5 robbers:
Moderate armour if cop slots are 10+
Mild armour if cop slots are 5-9
Will not be offered if less than 4 slots.
6+ Robbers:
Armour will not be purchasable.
Why should this be added? (pros):
- Less risk for less reward
- More sensible than having civilians doing all crimes with body armour
- Bank robberies could become a more realistic scenario the general player base can win in a small group.
What negatives could this have? (cons):
- Could be overpowered when utilised by skilled players.
- If the PD has no TFU and faces 3 robbers with heavy armour and guns like G3A3's they might as well just not respond at all.
- We'd either have to model body armour or have petty complaints that "THE CRIMINALS ARENT ACTUALLY WEARING ARMOUR AT ALL UNREALISTIC PATCH ASAP"
