Why were you banned/blacklisted?: Doxing
Why should this appeal be considered?: FOR FORUMS AND DISCORD UNBAN NOT INGAME
Around a year ago I got a community wide ban for doxxing. At the time I genuinely believed that sharing a picture of someones spotify pfp was just for a laugh looking back I realise how inappropriate and stupid that it was and I regret my actions a lot. overall I also regret how toxic I was.
I understand that given how active I used to be within the community an in-game is prolly off the table For that reason I've decided to make this appeal for the forums instead.
I started playing PerpHeads when I was around 14 as many of my friends were playing it at the time. I quickly became a regular player and spent almost every day on the server. During that time I became friends with a group of older people, who were around 16–17. As time went on I began copying their behaviour and gradually became very toxic. Eventually, we moved over to another server called Mutiny, where our behaviour became even worse. We regularly trolled and minged without giving much thought to the consequences of our actions. At that age I thought I was being funny and acting hard with my mates, without properly understanding how my behaviour could affect other people. During this time, members of that group managed to find my full name through my TikTok account and, as far as I understand, also found my family's Facebook accounts. They started sharing photos of me from when I was younger, as well as photos of my mother, with some extremely vile comments. Rather than recognising how unacceptable this behaviour was, I gradually became more desensitised to it and started to believe it was normal banter. this eventually led to me making a similar mistake myself. I found someone's spotify profile in the PerpHeads community, which had their face as its pfp. I shared that picture in our server, where people laughed about it. At the time, I didn't think much of what I had done. However, I now understand that sharing someone's picture without their permission is completely unacceptable, regardless of the circumstances or even if they post it themselves its still private info.Around three months later, following an argument within the group, one of the individuals involved used a picture of my face as their pfp for several hours. I was extremely upset by this so I told my cousin everything that had been happening. He said to me to report it, so I contacted a staff member named Juju and provided the evidence. Juju then banned the individual for sharing pictures of me and making inappropriate comments about my mother. Shortly afterwards, I received a message informing me that I had also been community-wide banned. Looking back, I recognise how hypocritical it was to report someone for sharing my pictures when I had previously done something similar to another member of the community. However, I'm glad I reported what happened, as the situation and the punishment that followed made me realise just how serious these actions were. It forced me to reflect on my own behaviour and understand that what I had considered harmless was actually hurtful and unacceptable. Since receiving my ban, I have completely distanced myself from the people involved and no longer associate with anyone from that group. They have attempted to contact me through TikTok and Discord on three separate occasions, but I have blocked them immediately each time. I have no interest in getting involved with them. I've also made significant changes to my life outside of gaming. At the time I played nonstop and it was having a serious impact on my education, and my school attendance had dropped to just 12%. Since then, I've managed to turn things around considerably, with my attendance now sitting at 92%. I've also secured a job working alongside my stepdad, carrying out tow truck work and minor vehicle repairs. I have 1 year left of school before I go to college, where I hope to study towards becoming a paramedic. I understand that these changes don't automatically mean I deserve another chance, nor do I expect the staff team to ignore what happened simply because time has passed. However, I hope they demonstrate that I've matured considerably and have made a genuine effort to improve myself since receiving the ban.
I would also like to offer an apology to:
Oddy
A1L
The guy whose picture I had shared
All staff members who had to deal with the situation
I'm genuinely sorry for my horrible toxic behaviour to everyone in the community and the frustration I caused the staff team.
I originally intended to leave this appeal for at least another year, as I understand that my ban wasn't issued all that long ago. However, with only one more school year remaining before I move on to college, I wanted to make one final attempt to explain how much I've changed and ask whether the staff team would be willing to reconsider my ban.
I'm not expecting an immediate unban, and I understand that the decision is with the staff team. My main hope is that my forum and Discord bans could be considered. I don't believe I'm entitled to have any of my ingame restrictions lifted I simply hope the staff team can recognise that I'm no longer the same person who made those decisions around a year ago and a half ago.
Thank you for taking the time to read my appeal. Im sorry that it is quite lengthy but I wanted to provide the full story and take responsibility for what happened rather than leave anything unexplained.
