Error failed to send a snapshot

a few of you may have noticed that I have not been on the server recently,the reason for my inactivity is not boredum or anything like that but the plain fact that I cannot connect. I try to connect around 5-10 times a day and every time I get a message that pops up saying "Error! Failed to send a snapshot" and then I disconnect. Wandering if anyone here has any kind of fix for me.
Things I have already tried to get my game working again
1. joining a single player server first
2. starting my game in dxlevel 90
3. verifying my game cache
4. fresh install (including deleting the gmod folder and all content from steamapps)
5. joining through legacy browser, the console and just about every other way to join.

Please help, I would very much like to be able to play the server again.

you might be able to install the content again, see if that works.

People are suggesting restart steam then reconnect, rinse and repeat until it works, not sure though.

From what I can find from troubleshooting is that it's apparently caused by the snapchat packet being overflown, such as prop spam/etc.

Only possible solutions I found was as following (not related with eachother):

- +mat_specular 0
- Restart steam
- Restart PC

Have you tried turning it off and counting to 10?

I had this problem myself, what I did to solve this was firstly join another server and then join perpheads

I re-installed steam once, and it fixed it for me. But if you have big games such as GTA V and Arma III, I highly suggest you don't.
