Description of the idea:
Adding alternative skinned versions to certain weapons.
Ideas for alternative skins for weapons include:
- Chrome / two tone (black and chrome)
- Gold
- Desert / olive
- Camoflague
- Wood / Synthetic.
- Case hardened
- Black
How it should work:
The items could either be:
- Craftable with a paint bucket, or chrome / gold (Preferred)
Or:
- Could be taken to the gun shop and customised there for an additional charge.
Items that could be added to allow for these colour schemes:
- Krylon paint (could just be kept as paint bucket however)
- Gold leaf
- Chromium
- Wooden planks (for wooden body conversions)
Examples of which weapons could have which skins in my opinion:
Chrome:
SW Model 19, Machete, Combat knife, Luger, PPK, Makarov, Beretta M9, Double Barrelled Shotgun, Sawed Off, Taurus 605.
two tone:
Glock 17, Glock 18c, USP40 (black grip and body, chrome slide)
Walter P99 (Coyote grip, black slide, but this gun could also work in black with chrome slide)
MP5A4, MP5/10 (Black hand guard, grip, barrel end and sights, Coyote tan receiver)
Combat knife.
Steyr AUG: Green stock.
Gold:
Katana, AK47, MAC 11, Desert Eagle (maybe tiger stripe gold?) , SW500, SW29, AS50 (ultra flex), Mini UZI, Colt Anaconda, M1911A1 (With pearl grips please)
Single Colour:
Barrett M82 (black)
M4A1, UMP45, Glock 20, G36C (coyote tan)
Colt Python (black)
L85A2: Full black.
SG550: Full black.
Camoflague:
M24 (camo like the old M24)
SR25: Woodland spray camo.
Others:
Remington 870: Black and wood could be changed to Chrome with black stock and pump.
M14: Wooden stock
AWP: DRAGON LORE
Mossberg 590: Wooden stock and pump
Taurus raging bull: Case hardened
Other considerations:
- Whether or not alternative coloured stocks could also be introduced for these firearms to make them more authentic.
- The point above, but also for magazines.
- The possibility that the gold weapons could also be given out as event prizes or rewards for community spotlights, or maybe even an award for completing x amount of bank raids in a row.
- Gold and chrome weapons could also be added as potential casino wheel prizes.
Why should this be added? (pros):
- Good display pieces
- Good for character development and portrayal
- Flex item giving players something to sink money into
- Gangstas paradise
What negatives could this have? (cons):
- Development time I guess?
- People would probably feel more inclined not to lose golden or pimped out guns.
