Can I just find someone and lure them to come to my house and we chill and then put them on gun point. Have them as a hostage wait for police to arrive. Ask for money. If not I kill the hostage.

You cannot force someone into your house, and you may not force a hostage situation aswell. The person you wish to lure into your house must come on their own will, and you cannot call cops saying you have a hostage, as you are not valuing your life or freedom.

5.6 Kidnapping​

Player(s) may only kidnap another player if it is absolutely necessary and benefits the player to such an extent that it outweighs the risks. For example, if taking a hostage will increase the chances of the player escaping the police substantially then a hostage can be taken. Players should refer to rule 3.4 when deciding whether or not taking a hostage is appropriate and/or beneficial. Kidnapping another player whilst visible from outside a muggable zone with the intention of mugging or raiding them is not allowed.


So no you may not take your "friend" hostage.

so if I’m escaping the cops and I magically get a dude to follow me to my house. Can I have him as hostage?

Taking a hostage will escalate the situation, so only take a hostage if you have no other chance of survival. You are trying to keep your freedom and most importantly stay alive. Taking a hostage may only be suitable in a situation where you may be able to escape

It depends on what situation you're in precisely, this needs more context. If you mean you use your friend as an actor then just dial 911 saying you have a hostage, then no.

But let's say you're in a situation where the police discovered you and you decide to use your friend who is acting as a hostage as a mean to get away, then yes, there have been instances of this
