How did you find perp and why did you stay

my friends convinced me to come on to mass rdm but then we got too confused on how to even get guns and how they worked (it took us a few hours to realise we needed magazines to even reload the guns) and we ended up realizing the server is actually pretty fun

Random person that I played DarkRP (24Gamer I think his name was) with showed me it in 2016. I found the realism (rules, making money, crafting) challenging which unlocked my interest towards the server and the grind that had to be put in back them to actually make something.

Was browsing for RP servers at like 5 am, came across PERP with like 10-15 people on and had such a cool RP interaction with some randoms that I never wanted to leave.

Somehow I went from that to being a minge for like 2-3 years straight... I'm glad that's behind me now..

I got banned from a TTT server I used to play on a lot, so I hopped on some DarkRP servers with a friend just to mess around and mass RDM. Then @Fredy and Ash (kid who just got staff) showed me around, got me a car, and I kinda just got stuck here.

Was bored of dead by daylight, so I searched GMod for a good server
then realized this isn't a server with 90 thousand custom jobs, weapons that are one shot miniguns, the weird f4 menus, cringe playermodels and all the rest of the slop most other servers have. Additionally the systems are actually well made

Got banned for cheating on Mono > me @rxsm and Rai Dooley tried Perp as it was the only server similar to it, we found it very fun, fought against ASDA and put up a good fight as 3 people against their 20 men.. > quit Perp because I got unbanned from Mono > got banned for the 2nd time for cheating on Mono > tried Perp again, @rxsm and Rai Dooley got banned, and I was on the brink of quitting, while I was stuck with 0 guns and 0 money and a comms ban, my car gets stolen right in front of me, that's when @walnash shot the guy and picked me up as an ASDA prodigy.. @walnash was such a warmhearted individual and kept supplying me with both guns and money to help me get back up on my feet, which made me stay for quite some time, until you guessed it; got unbanned from Mono and quit Perp > got banned for the 3rd time for cheating on Mono and started playing Perp again > got unbanned on Mono again and after 2 or so years it closed down and I decided to quit GMod as a whole..

Joined back after my ban expired in October, first day back me and @Thorgal had some fun and said I should join MiP but I wasn't sure whether or not I would stay for long, though I made the great decision of hopping back on the next day where @Pugga welcomed me back.. MiP then started to die out and GS9 was made, the rest is history...

Honestly? I don’t even remember how I got here. All I really know is that I found PERP around September or October of 2015. From there it was kind on/off, until I finally came back properly last year after finishing my education and settling into a more stable lifestyle.

I wish I could remember more from those early days, but I do know I made some great friends and shared a lot of laughs. Does anyone remember when Paralake FM was a thing? Man, I used to host that station all the time.

@Sir Zac, you were the reason I stuck around all these years. You and I made some really great memories back then.
I remember when @ErmakDimon and I started the Paralake Camping Group, watching that video really brought back some great memories.

I wish I had made a bigger impression to be remembered.... but I shouldn't be complaining about these things. What matters is what I make of it now. Oh well, I ended up being a cop main back then. Guess it doesn’t hurt to be one now.

A random day 9 years ago is when I first randomly joined, I don't recall anybody getting me into it specifically, I believe I was just looking for servers to play. I started playing and enjoyed everything that was custom on the server, then I started to make money as I was actively planting in places that I shouldn't have been, whilst harvesting Infront of officers in attempt to hide the evidence! (Thanks for the warning haha @SamSN). From there, I guess I just decided to stick around as I was enjoying aspects of the server as I had not experienced custom stuff like this before and also enjoyed meeting other players.
