Suggestion Title: Looting Car Keys
Suggestion Description: Allow car keys to be muggable and for corpses to be loot able for temporary access to get in a the owner’s car.
Why should this be added?:
- allows players to make a swift getaway
- allows players to avoid unnecessary shootouts better using a realistic method
- automates a /me into a mechanic, as stealing keys already can happen in mugs
- makes it possible to roleplay the /me mechanically without relying on /looc and trusting the person to be present to press F4 to give access, which is all janky.
- cops get more high speed pursuits, which personally as an officer or a criminal, id always pick over a constant shooters
- adds more world interaction
- makes fights and man hunts more strategic
What negatives could this have?:
- people messing cars up
- people being killed for their car keys, same as people currently Rdmed when transporting valuable visible guns
- cops having more chases
- staff dealing with 3.15 and 2.5 rule breakers who ruin it for the rest of us.
What problem would this suggestion solve?: Stealing car keys off living players or off dead players is impossible even when it should be allowed due to the rules permitting it as well as the /me enforcing it to be granted yet it’s mechanically not forced therefore it’s a always struggle to get the person to comply
I have a first hand example of why this is a problem:
I’ve had a shootout happen at hicktown trailers where I won and tried to /me take the car keys off my friend’s body. My friend wasn’t tabbed in to roleplay the /me, so it was impossible to do so. Then I tried to crowbar our car 3x while having 8/8 lock picking skill which resulted in ALL 3 crowbars breaking leaving me and my living teammate, who was a new player which i was hoping to teach, stranded and running to Metro.
