This is something that has been happening for quite a long time now, but it's something that has becoming more frequent over the past couple of weeks.
To clarify, you shall only apply for the mayoral elections if you fully intent on becoming the Mayor. Under no circumstances should you enter the elections to 'speed up' the process or resign immediately after. I shouldn't have to mention that those type of actions are considered 'unrealistic' and such should not be done!
